I found the clip once. It was from 2014 and it was a dudebro caller that taunted them about drinking beers and smoking weed in high school. The clip is titled something different because it was during a news story or something. I will try to find it.

The funniest thing I remember was the next caller, he just went "heeeeeey, what's going on with you guys?"

He's like a slightly less geeky Tom Papa, with basically the same effect on the show (it's not better or worse necessarily, he just kinda takes up space and advances the conversation while never saying anything that elicits more than a weak smile).

When in the past two weeks has he talked about pot other than when prompted by Opie? IMO he fits the show a lot better than I would have imagined just from the rep he has. Plus besides the top tier guys like Bobby and Vos who wouldn't be struggling to hold on with Artie Lange there?

Doesn't he also have a movie show and a food show? Him knowing those three things means he knows 3x what Opie does.

I think he's great and the thing I like most about him is that he's not an asshole, he doesn't have an big ego that most of the other comic's have. He's a good dude.

I've seen a few of his specials on Netflix. I like his act, but his appearances on the show can go either way. Today he was definitely playing 2nd fiddle to Artie, but I think a lot of people would be at least a little bit intimidated by his presence.

He's kind of a cunt, saw him live a while back in Minneapolis when he was with Hardwick and was a dickhead towards fans. As far as him on the show goes, he's average at best.

I've always liked Doug from his Doug Loves Movies podcast and his times on Deathsquad podcasts.

He might not be good on Opie Raqio, idk.

I've also never heard his stand up but if it's only pot stuff, which I'm kind of assuming, I probably wouldn't like that much.

It's amazing the amount of comics I like and have become familiar with from podcasts but have never actually heard their stand up.

When Artie first did the Stern show, for a year or two, he was very quiet. Doug Benson is a funny guy, theres no doubt about that, he makes great jokes he just doesn't really get into the conversation and he doesn't have many strong opinions. But still, it could be that he needs lots of time in studio to get a feel for the place and then maybe his appearances will get stronger. The main problem as I see it is they need to start calling each other on their shit more and have disagreements, everything is a bit "pablum" at them moment.

Not great on the show. But as a "non" smoker of pot, I enjoy his getting high show and very much enjoy his doug loves movies podcast. Even when I don't know the guys on doug loves movies, it's still a good show. I like Doug. But like other have said, he doesn't speak up enough to be noticed and tosses a couple of bombs in there, but usually only speaks up when he has an opinion and doesn't just try jumping in, which is good.

Wow, you are the only guy I've seen that likes that Getting High show. Most of the ones I've seen are awkward train wrecks.

Artie absolutely killed it today IMO I love the guy.

He was funny in like his first or second appearance, but after that he's just dull. Just the kind of guy who gets so high and doesn't say much and when he talks and thinks he joking but he's really just boring.

Also, you can tell he listens to the show a lot because he references recent and past bits and such but for a guy who clearly has listened at least pretty often seems to miss the joke a bunch of times. Jimmy joking about Fast and Furious yesterday and Doug didn't get the joke like 3 times and Jimmy just goes "oh literal Doug" Jimmy was on fire at that point so it didn't really matter, but still. Also today when Opie and Sam were going with the Omar bit on twitter, Doug took their blatant sarcasm as serious. He just seems like he's so high he kind of doesn't jell good enough.

Really though I love him but he's not in his element here. His podcast is my favorite because he is actually enthusiastic about the subject matter

he doesn't really hurt the room being in there so im cool with him, and i think hes funny, the only thing is he doesn't talk much or ahve strong opinions on things, but he doesn't replace that with stupid comments

I thought Doug Benson did a pretty good job on the shows. Was respectful to the guests and his role. I was totally prepared to hate him like I do with Rich Vos and that other dude with the girlfriend in LA who does have some funny lines but talks way too much.

But yeah, my ears well be welcoming to hear Doug Benson on the show again.
