This is immoral and wrong.

Not to mention posting torrent links to copyrighted content is against the rules. They will probably get banned now.

I might be gay, but I think that guy was joking. Which is why I upvoted him.

Anyone who thinks downloading music/movies/games/whatever is equivalent to stealing is a troglodytic moron. I don't really care if I get banned, anyway. I'll just move to another account. "spunkmaster_flex" sounds a lot better anyway, I don't know how it didn't occur to me at the time.

I'm someone who has torrented for a long time. With that said... how is it not stealing?

You wouldn't download a car!

GAME, SET, MATCH....CHECKMATE.

I would if it was even remotely possible.

You would if you could!!

It's only stealing if you planned on buying it in the first place. If you were never going to buy it, torrenting it doesn't cost anyone any money.

Not sure why you got a downvote. 99% of shit i download, i wouldnt have bought it in the first place. I only downloaded it cause it was free. It doesnt totally negate the stealing argument, but it isnt really stealing either.

The thing that makes stealing wrong is that you've taken something away from somebody. When you download something, you haven't taken anything away. You've reproduced it exactly with no affect on the original. If I happen upon the recipe for a dish served in a restaurant, then reproduce it at home... is that stealing? Intellectual property is imaginary property.

Then there's a more philosophical argument. When does it become stealing? Since files can be represented as a series of numbers, where do you draw the line? 10 numbers? 100? 100 000 000? A real-world example of this was the AACS encryption key controversy.

Even if you believe it's stealing, you have to confront the fact that the ease of information transfer will only become easier. The futility of trying to stop it is similar to the futility of the drug war. People who produce content should focus on profiting from a tangible service. Also let's not forget that so-called "piracy" has made more careers than it has ruined.

To put it simply and faggily, ~information is free~

Intellectual property is imaginary property.

This is horribly retarded.

It actually is stealing. Anyone who downloads music/movies/games and doesn't think they're stealing is just a coward who doesn't want to admit they're a fucking thief.

Source: I am a downloader / thief.

Anyone who thinks downloading music/movies/games/whatever is equivalent to stealing is a troglodytic moron

I was joking before, but how is pirating not stealing? Just because something is a digital product/service doesn't mean it has no value.

steal: take (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it.

i guess that hinges upon whether or not you believe information can be owned.

/r/illegaltorrents

Tell that to them.

HAHAHHA AS IF I GIVE A SINGLE FUCK, PAYCHECK MADE HIS CHOICE.

I've bought all previous Jimmy specials.

This will fit in nicely with all of my MomPOV torrents...

This will save non-Americans a lot of hassle.

Why would I want to do that?

U S A! U S A!

Æd min bæ din røv!

Æd min bæ din røv

Get out of here, commie!

thanks cunt
