He didn't "spawn that movement". He was the first comedian with the persona of "fuck corps and smoke weed" spawned way before him and in main stream.

Seriously, Carlin didn't want to start a movement. He hated EVERYBODY. I guarantee you if he was alive today he would eviscerate the internet fedora atheists, the SJWs who get mad when you use the ableist insult of "lame", and the people on Facebook who think they can make a difference (Kony, etc).
