Why doesn't Rogan just go down there and do Rogan-esque things to escort Ant up? Ari can do loud, crazy Ari things to cause a distraction while Rogan goes around putting people to sleep
Ari can dress up as a Klan member while Rogan puts everyone else in rear naked chokes. Half are blinded by outrage and the other half are asleep so Ant can sneak by.
Rogan's biggest fault here is not bringing the full force of deathsquad to help him. Rogan going through the hallways like Bane. Eddie Bravo doing Ninja shit. Schaub gooning it up. Meanwhile the hallways are completely filled with marijuana smoke, primate kettlebells being flung all around. Deathsquad mayhem was needed.
Because its not actually Sirius management. They work in a giant skyscraper and use like 4 floors in it. Theres a security company that controls the lobby and has a "do not allow this person up" list.
I dont think he should have gotten fired. That said: if you are a company you CANNOT let a disgruntled formerly terminated employee just come into your headquarters and get on a microphone that broadcasts to thousands of your customers. There is no way I would let this guy in if I worked for Sirius.
But they will let hookers, retards, and bernhard goetz come into their headquarters and get on a microphone that broadcasts to thousands of their customers?
yes, nobody respects those you mentioned opinions. Also when you let a formerly terminated employee into the building and he does something to a current employee you are opening yourself to a shitstorm legally. Not to say Ant would do anything but almost every large company has this policy for a reason.
Security people don't get fired. You can't blame them for being by the book about stuff. But yeah one of the SXM suits can clear the way for Ant, it's just probably so early none of them are in the office yet.
Opie said Sirius doesn't care that much about Anthony, that it's all "up to him" if he wants back in. Anthony definitively proved this to be completely incorrect today. Either management truly does not want him in the building anymore, or Opie threw a fit behind the scenes to ensure he was not allowed up, while pretending to want him up on twitter for cover.
Either Opie is completely fucking wrong, or he is completely fucking lying. Wonder if norton will have the balls to get opie to admit which on Monday
I am guessing that management wants Anthony to talk to them FIRST. Before trying an end run around them to get on any SXM station. It was a clever attempt on Rogan and Ant's part.
However, in the end would you have let someone that was fired back into your building without an appointment or notice of any kind? If you think that Greenstein (or anyone who would be in management) would let Anthony back on the air before he gets a dressing down and had some clear rules set out for him, you are kidding yourself.
It's like Stannis requiring Mance to bend his knee.
But wait- I thought this was honest radio, no bullshit, straight from the hip- Why does Anthony need a 'dressing down' when the issue at hand was a series of tweets that were mildly offensive (if at all) vs a decade of employed tenure?
What could he possibly say that they are all so afraid of? What exactly are they punishing? He can't be on air as a guest because of tweets? Absurd, childish, and flies in the face of what the channel and platform are supposed to represent
Do you ever deal with corporate management at a very large corporation? It doesn't have to make sense. It's more about respecting their authoritay and putting Anthony in his place. It's their show.
I am not advocating that it's the right or fair or sensible. But that's the way it is.
I am not disagreeing with that whatsoever- however, what you are saying is that Opie was naive, and has no pull. Someone with pull, with a 7 figure salary, with their own channel, gets that done.
Red tape is to keep the weaklings in line. It does not apply the same way to the guy running the channel.
You take option 1, sensible, but too trusting of Opie in my opinion.
That is not what I'm saying at all and I trust no one. (that is why I live alone surrounded by razor wire and land mines)
Obviously there are limits to what Opie can or wants to do when it comes to Anthony getting back on air. Lets move past Opie's limitations. It seems clear that Anthony talking to Greenstein is the gate for him getting back in the building. Then do that Anthony.
Yeah, no shit. Someone build a time machine and frisk his past self to knock some sense into him. Maybe that guy will realize there are people worse than Stern.
If you work in a company and your friend fucks up and gets fired, sometimes its really hard to get that friend's job back and you hope he can get the job back. Sometimes its out of your control
Then you don't pass the buck by saying it's up to that "friend" and also saying that "management isn't that upset", they're just made enough to not let him in the building.
Opie has went the way he wanted to go(which he mentioned splitting the show up) while getting a good contract. Why can't it be that simple?
Because its not that simple, there's a fuck-ton of factors going on in this situation, and Anthony is not handling it in a way where he wants to work at Sirius again.
What's he got to handle? They fired him over e-mail, they don't allow him to come in and be a guest. What exactly is he suppose to do, keep calling SiriusXM every month and say can I come back? Good lord Howard was suing Sirius and they didn't give a care!
He got fired for posting something on twitter that SiriusXM had been paying him for saying for years.
Interesting that Opie didn't at least "threaten" a walk out because of Anthony's firing. He didn't even care to make it look good because he got exactly what he was thinking, his own show without Anthony and it was close enough to contract time to still have some power.
Things are now the way Opie wanted... he comes out saying that management loves the show(after years of saying he hates management), comes out saying their audience went up a couple thousand when they've NEVER been able to get the actual numbers from Sirius... how in the hell do you get numbers when all you do is transmit one way to radios?
I'll give him credit if he just does a fucking Skype visit on Anthony's show. It's really that simple. He doesn't have to drive to Long Island, nobody has to convince SXM management to let Ant through security, none of that.
I really want the old show back. I'm willing to forget the opie hate to get the old show back. I have no interest in listening to either show without the other.
You know what, if Opie did retire at the end of the contract, I guarantee you hatred for him would go away. Say what you want about him in the past, he wasn't as hypocritical as his new persona who takes corporate cock up the ass.
If my memory serves me right one of the security members at reception is a "strong empowered black woman". She probably hates Ant. This is her way of proving her authority.
It wasn't a management approved plan to having Anthony back on air.
The path to back on air for Anthony is through the same people that fired him. Not Rogan and Ari trying to get Anthony under the wire and over the wall like an episode of Rogan's Heroes.
It actually was legit. I could tell way back a couple years ago this actually was Opie's plan when he kept mentioning a time change over and over and just listening to Ant's reaction about it.
Opie just never told Ant about his plan but Opie wasn't lying this time.
Now Ant has to return the favor and let Opie appear on a Jackie Martling-hosted TACS episode, with the twist being that Keith won't let him park in the driveway.
thats dumb. you naggers are paranoid. i don't know who this benjamin person is. check my history you obsessive homosexual. oh.. I'm sure you already did, pussy fuck boy.
lol no I'm not. and of course you checked. I came on board after the gregshells show and i have no clue who benjamin72 is. kanye shrug check the posting style.
Yeah because it is so hard to check someone's post history you ass sucker. Check the posting style? Would that not imply that you know what Benjamin72s posting style is.
There are more options than "Opie's a lying liar" or "Opie's a powerless lying liar." It's quite possible that management isn't necessarily that mad, but also didn't feel like just showing up in the lobby was the way Ant should have gone about it. Or felt letting him in like that would make them look bad/weak/etc..
Y'know, maybe your girlfriend isn't that mad at you anymore...but showing up and banging on her door probably isn't the best way to make up.
Opie is powerless and read the situation incorrectly, or he is in fact a huge liar.
There are no other options. Either Opie denied it, or Management did. Either he is weak and dumb, or he is a manipulative liar. He painted himself into this corner by saying that it was all on Anthony, that management did not care at this point.
Ok. And saying it's all up to Anthony means it's up to Anthony to handle it the right way. Showing up by surprise and making a twitter event out of it could be considered approaching the situation in a what that management might not like.
People need to stop looking at every situation through the lens of: "How is Opie wrong?"
Maybe Ant just showing up got management re-pissed. I'm not saying it's definitely what happened, or that Opie is the world's greatest broadcaster who has never told a lie. I'm just saying it's a perfectly reasonable other possibility, and that maybe everything shouldn't anyways be approached looking to find an angle to hate Opie even more (and yes, I realize that's heresy here).
Everyone knows the trouble people have getting through that lobby. Also, imagine any other workplace. Someone you fired who is a gun nut shows back up at your door. Probably not going to let them in.
Having worked in security, I can tell you that people are not allowed in buildings for years after an incident. No one ever takes the time to remove them from the list.
Or they were friends and radio partners for 20 years who were successful together and they had a disagreement recently but they don't hate each other and I think they've already made up anyway. You're being ridiculous.
That's funny, I recall some words said that included "human" and "garbage" paired together. They hadn't been friends since 1999. Now that Opie has been called out for being Greggshells he's eased up and deciding to show that he is fighting for Ant to come back. It only took Ant calling him out for two hours and all of his fans telling him how stupid the quarrel is for him to actively do something about it.
I recall calling some of my friends or family horrible things from time to time it doesn't mean that we haven't remained friends, or gotten closer after huge blow ups. Sometimes they are nessessary. Both of them held this in way to long and it can turn way to emotional. I guess you wouldn't know this though. You'd have to actually have friends to realize these things happen in relationships. Also despite everything they're still been very successful together and lived lives neither one ever imagined. You can't downplay that. To say they haven't been friends since 99 is stupid, and again that was just Opie being dramatic. They haven't been as close since then, and at a time things changed but you don't do 20 years of radio with someone and not appreciate the good times you did have.
Opie was called out and realized he was maybe partially wrong (you can't downplay the fact Anthony is also to blame here) and manned up and finally contacted Anthony. Or vice versa I don't know who contacted who first but it seems like their putting their differences aside finally and moving on. You could learn from this.
Isn't that what people wanted? For both these men to finally set aside their differences and just talk? Again you're another dumb fan with no life of his on so he sits around and wrongly speculates about the lives of Opie Hughes and Anthony Cumia. Ultimately them getting back together is what most people want. That was the show we loved. I can't help you with your hate for Opie but I actually used to like the show alot and I don't sit around and dwell on one person.
I think Opie is trying to recover. In the last day or so he has posted pictures and referenced Ant a couple times. I think there might be some humility left in those saggy tits.
That would be a little fucked up if they let him drive out there and just wait in the lobby. I think Rogan planned it and he didn't know how strong (especially with management) the barrier between Ant and that studio is.
I wonder if Ant was in the city with something to do with the new studio and Rogan or someone made contact with him. Rogan didn't care if he could come up or not, because it's not his gig, he's just sitting there. If he did come up, awesome, a big thing happened on his "watch". If something bad went down, he's not there tomorrow to have to clean up.
Yeah good point, it would be surprising if Ant actually made the trip with how unlikely it could be. Either way I think the management at that fucking bullshit company hates Ant more than we knew.
Probably ego bullshit. They gave him the boot and pissed off the fans. If they puss out and let him come back in, they look weak. (Especially since it's not him crawling back, he's been called to come back on the air as a guest. And he's got a new thing going on, imagine him plugging the shit out of TACS on air, and is seemingly being successful without them). Even though it would be massively positive for the listeners. But what do I know about running a satellite radio company.
Rogan and Anthony clearly had already talked about it, and of course Rogan cares if Anthony comes up to talk in the studio for the first time since the firing, numbnuts
Rogan underestimated how much Sirius management and/or Opie did not want him in the studio, plain and simple
Well, at least this confirms to everyone where Anthony "really" stands with the company and not the BS Opie said. If they even were somewhat considering it, they would have let him in to test the waters.
Considering it takes this long to get Ant out of the lobby, I think Opie deserves a little credit for openly supporting this. The management might really hate him. They literally had a "DO NOT LET IN" sign of Anthony after he got fired
How can you give Opie credit on this??! He's the one who's been chanting over and over to his audience that SiriusXM no longer has a problem with Ant and that it's "on Ant" to figure out coming back.
I give Opie credit for vocally supporting it, since it seems like it may be a bit out of his control management-wise on even getting him back in the studio.
The "It's on Ant" thing is looking more like Ant needs to figure out a way to talk to the higher-ups and get his job back. Just simply doing it in public is not acknowledging reality.
What the fuck? I read this shit before I heard the clip, and all I knew was that Opie's loyal twitter crew "The Hang On's" made it sound like Opie was in the lobby fighting 4 Security Guards and kicking ass, demanding they let his friend Anthony up to the Opie Show so they can make up, and then I listen to the YouTube clip and find out this was Sam's Shit Show, and Opie wasn't even fucking there! WTF?
Now Opie is being praised by all 3 of his fans because he made the first move to bury the hatchet. All I heard on the clip was Opie wasn't there, so he didn't give a shit if Ant was there or not since he didn't have to face him. And I guarantee you that IF Opie DID make some calls trying to get Ant upstairs, it wasn't for Ant. It was because
Joe Rogan wanted to see Ant and Opie is a star struck teenage girl about Joe Rogan. I guarantee you that if it was Mike Bochetti was there with Sam just the two of them and he wanted Ant to come in, do you really think Opie would have even pretended to try to get Ant in studio?
LOL they acted like ant was going to waltz up in there guns blazing. I really think they're more scared of him and his guns than his dumb fucking tweets he made, honestly. Ant values underage pussy, booze and bullets more than killing a bunch of blokes that make under $50,000 a year.
The autistic Burger King employees who make up this sub don't seem to understand how the real world works. If I tried to pull off what Anthony did at a workplace I was fired from, I'd expect the police to be escorting me off the property. It was nice of Rogan and opie to try, but you just can't go around the bullshit rules that a corporate bureaucracy has in place. Ant needs to try to resolve it like a big boy.
That would be a little fucked up if they let him drive out there and just wait in the lobby. I think Rogan planned it and he didn't know how strong (especially with management) the barrier between Ant and that studio is.
Then you don't pass the buck by saying it's up to that "friend" and also saying that "management isn't that upset", they're just made enough to not let him in the building.

i would imagine Rogan could sweep Ant off his feet and carry him up like a damsel.

Lol Better for Ant to ride piggyback style on Rogan's back so that rogan's hands and legs are free to go all kung fu on anyone who gets in their way

This is also known as Crippled Master Style and I think it would be fucking epic.

Joey Diaz going back to his OG roots. Redban doing silly crazy distracting shit like he usually does. Duncan confusing people with his hippie mystical jibberish. Ari screaming about something like a madman for no reason. Callen confusing folks with his bullshitting ways and talk of a 1984 tae kwon do championship. Meanwhile the hallways are completely filled with marijuana smoke, primate kettlebells being flung all around. Deathsquad mayhem was needed.

It's really ridiculous how they are treating him like a serial murderer, when in reality he just said mean things about a hooker online.
They act like he was actually going to hurt her in some way. How many people has Jimmy wished death on live on air? Thousands?

One think I'm fairly certain of is that the full story of Ant's relationship with SXM has never been made public.
There's no way they fired Ant over that single tweet- they were clearly waiting for an excuse to can him.

You know what, if Opie did retire at the end of the contract, I guarantee you hatred for him would go away. Say what you want about him in the past, he wasn't as hypocritical as his new persona who takes corporate cock up the ass.
6 shemthepen 2015-04-17
We all do. I think it's clear that despite the shenanigans of the past few weeks, they want their show back too. SXM stinks.

How did that work out Op?
13 xBrianSmithx 2015-04-17
It wasn't a management approved plan to having Anthony back on air.
The path to back on air for Anthony is through the same people that fired him. Not Rogan and Ari trying to get Anthony under the wire and over the wall like an episode of Rogan's Heroes.
6 CuckECheese 2015-04-17
Rogan's Heroes fucking rules.
10 RoosterBrains 2015-04-17
There were talks of doing two shows of course. With Jimmy doing 8 hours of radio a day. Seems legit
1 [deleted] 2015-04-17
It actually was legit. I could tell way back a couple years ago this actually was Opie's plan when he kept mentioning a time change over and over and just listening to Ant's reaction about it.
Opie just never told Ant about his plan but Opie wasn't lying this time.
2 jhohcable 2015-04-17
When you bring this up, it kind of makes Opie looks disingenuous.
6 Me007gold 2015-04-17
Opie? No way, wasnt he voted most likely to tell the truth in high school?

10 i_saw_nothing 2015-04-17
For anybody who claims that Opie was lying or disingenuous, even Ant says he tried.
Now Ant has to return the favor and let Opie appear on a Jackie Martling-hosted TACS episode, with the twist being that Keith won't let him park in the driveway.

If Opie succeeds in getting Ant in studio by making some calls, that should be good enough for now. Baby steps doc.
9 dochattan 2015-04-17
Again, it'd mean something if Opie was in studio. At the moment, it's Opie saying he's making calls for an East Coast JRE.
Opie says a lot of shit. A lot of it is bullshit.

8 molloybe 2015-04-17
There are more options than "Opie's a lying liar" or "Opie's a powerless lying liar." It's quite possible that management isn't necessarily that mad, but also didn't feel like just showing up in the lobby was the way Ant should have gone about it. Or felt letting him in like that would make them look bad/weak/etc..
Y'know, maybe your girlfriend isn't that mad at you anymore...but showing up and banging on her door probably isn't the best way to make up.
3 Come_Honor_Cheeks 2015-04-17
Opie is powerless and read the situation incorrectly, or he is in fact a huge liar.
There are no other options. Either Opie denied it, or Management did. Either he is weak and dumb, or he is a manipulative liar. He painted himself into this corner by saying that it was all on Anthony, that management did not care at this point.
3 molloybe 2015-04-17
Ok. And saying it's all up to Anthony means it's up to Anthony to handle it the right way. Showing up by surprise and making a twitter event out of it could be considered approaching the situation in a what that management might not like.
People need to stop looking at every situation through the lens of: "How is Opie wrong?"
3 Come_Honor_Cheeks 2015-04-17
Opie: sirius management does not care anymore. Apparently they do care enough to not let him in the fucking building, eh?
That's not the action of a non caring entity. Guess Opie has no pull, or he was wrong, or maybe both, right? Can't have it both ways.
3 molloybe 2015-04-17
I'll say it again, as clearly as possible.
2 robfrostrules 2015-04-17
Everyone knows the trouble people have getting through that lobby. Also, imagine any other workplace. Someone you fired who is a gun nut shows back up at your door. Probably not going to let them in.
3 molloybe 2015-04-17
That too. Frankly, I'm pretty shocked Ant bothered waking up (?) so early in the morning to give this a shot.
3 MPetersson 2015-04-17
Having worked in security, I can tell you that people are not allowed in buildings for years after an incident. No one ever takes the time to remove them from the list.
8 AiCPearlJam 2015-04-17
I take this as Opie trying to save face and make a turn to look like a good guy.
9 TakesTheWrongSideGuy 2015-04-17
Or they were friends and radio partners for 20 years who were successful together and they had a disagreement recently but they don't hate each other and I think they've already made up anyway. You're being ridiculous.
5 AiCPearlJam 2015-04-17
That's funny, I recall some words said that included "human" and "garbage" paired together. They hadn't been friends since 1999. Now that Opie has been called out for being Greggshells he's eased up and deciding to show that he is fighting for Ant to come back. It only took Ant calling him out for two hours and all of his fans telling him how stupid the quarrel is for him to actively do something about it.
7 TakesTheWrongSideGuy 2015-04-17

7 Augment 2015-04-17
Man, I seriously hope this is the beginning of the reconciliation which eventually leads to SXM hiring Ant back.
15 [deleted] 2015-04-17
He's been on the lobby for well over an hour, I'm thinking this is going to be rant on Monday's edition of TACS.
1 Augment 2015-04-17
Maybe this version, though, could be O&A&LJ against SiriusXM as a team. "Fuck the mangement, man" kind of shit.
They can bond again through mutual hatred of the company like old times.

That would be a little fucked up if they let him drive out there and just wait in the lobby. I think Rogan planned it and he didn't know how strong (especially with management) the barrier between Ant and that studio is.
7 bsjett 2015-04-17
I wonder if Ant was in the city with something to do with the new studio and Rogan or someone made contact with him. Rogan didn't care if he could come up or not, because it's not his gig, he's just sitting there. If he did come up, awesome, a big thing happened on his "watch". If something bad went down, he's not there tomorrow to have to clean up.
4 johnnymcjonny 2015-04-17
Yeah good point, it would be surprising if Ant actually made the trip with how unlikely it could be. Either way I think the management at that fucking bullshit company hates Ant more than we knew.
2 bsjett 2015-04-17

Well, at least this confirms to everyone where Anthony "really" stands with the company and not the BS Opie said. If they even were somewhat considering it, they would have let him in to test the waters.
3 BetterknownasPete 2015-04-17
Dammit! i thought they were going to get Ecstasy of Gold and Opie and Anthony back... That would've been epic
1 stevie_janowskii 2015-04-17
It would have been great.
2 johnnymcjonny 2015-04-17
Considering it takes this long to get Ant out of the lobby, I think Opie deserves a little credit for openly supporting this. The management might really hate him. They literally had a "DO NOT LET IN" sign of Anthony after he got fired
8 ratmeatburgers 2015-04-17
How can you give Opie credit on this??! He's the one who's been chanting over and over to his audience that SiriusXM no longer has a problem with Ant and that it's "on Ant" to figure out coming back.

I give Opie credit for vocally supporting it, since it seems like it may be a bit out of his control management-wise on even getting him back in the studio.
The "It's on Ant" thing is looking more like Ant needs to figure out a way to talk to the higher-ups and get his job back. Just simply doing it in public is not acknowledging reality.

2 Moxson4 2015-04-17
It was because Joe Rogan wanted to see Ant and Opie is a star struck teenage girl about Joe Rogan. I guarantee you that if it was Mike Bochetti was there with Sam just the two of them and he wanted Ant to come in, do you really think Opie would have even pretended to try to get Ant in studio?

The autistic Burger King employees who make up this sub don't seem to understand how the real world works. If I tried to pull off what Anthony did at a workplace I was fired from, I'd expect the police to be escorting me off the property. It was nice of Rogan and opie to try, but you just can't go around the bullshit rules that a corporate bureaucracy has in place. Ant needs to try to resolve it like a big boy.

Then you don't pass the buck by saying it's up to that "friend" and also saying that "management isn't that upset", they're just made enough to not let him in the building.
