I know people who lived in LA for years who still don't know their way around LA. There's a running joke on 'Maron' how guests had no idea where Highland Park was or even existed.
because jimmy had a bunch of appearances to make and the manager can help keep him on schedule by keeping the appearances short. the rogan appearance was only 2 hours. the bert appearance was only an hour. both shows usually go much longer. it's probably easier for the manager to signal to joe or bert that time is up than for norton to tell his friends to wrap it up.
I think b/c Jim and Opie have either the same manager and/or agent. If true, then they were following Jim like a hawk to make sure he doesn't bury Opie and make sure hosts of the podcasts try to keep the topic of Opie to a minimum. Probably not true but still not outside the realm of possibility though, just a hypothesis. And driving around LA if you're not from LA is a fucking nightmare, it's stressful enough trying to make your appearances and appointments on time but to also deal with traffic where it takes you a hour to drive 5 miles on the freeway will molest your soul if you're the one behind the wheel.
