Clip request: Opie trying to convince Patrice his marriage had nothing to do with money.

I can't recall what exact context this came up in, but I remember a brief exchange one day when Patrice was in and he was talking about men & women & marriage and said a big part of Opie's value as a dude was that he is this famous/rich radio guy. Opie was predictably butthurt and unable to process reality and said it had absolutely nothing to do with Lindsy liking him, and that it's just because he's an awesome person. Patrice then proceeded to walk on Gregshells and drop the topic.

Can anyone find this?

I'm an average looking man in his late forties with millions of dollars and no personality who happened to land this incredibly beautiful blonde in her mid twenties.

Nothing to do with money here guys. Nothing at all.

ME: Has nothing to do with money! She was attracted to my talent, you hater!

damn dude good job dog

Of course he was. How that idiot is capable of convincing himself that his twenty year old wife is actually attracted to him is just chilling. He's a balding, overweight, autistic David Spade look a like.

I hate how Opie rags on Ant for underaged women. Opie married a woman when she was under 30 when he was almost 50. He's older than his father in law. When Ant fucks women in their 20s, he's a ghoul, yes, but what does that make somebody who marries them? And then deludes himself into thinking "she likes me for ME!" when she clearly just married him because he's a quasi-famous multi-millionaire.

When Ant fucks women in their 20s, he's a ghoul, yes, but what does that make somebody who marries them?

Their husband.

Ugh.

the correct answer is a schmuck

Ant's a ghoul but isn't in self-denial about it and clearly realizes and doesn't disagree with anyone who says girls only date him b/c of the money and huge home. But he also says they're attracted to his personality which is actually believable. If you're rich and famous (well, O&A famous) girls will give your personality a chance to shine before spreading their legs.

I remember Opie said his in laws didn't like him at first cause he's a shock jock, guess that changed after knowing the dude have fu money

Btw Norton thanked the Philly crew in his book, "Lynsi S. and the motherfuckin’ Philly crew" is how he worded it

Opie married a woman under thirty. Ant fucks teenagers he scouted out on Twitter. Not that I'm judging, just noting the difference.

This guy gets it

Ant fucking 20 yr olds isn't ghoulish in my opinion.

Ant fucking 17 yr olds and talking online with underage girls is fucking ghoulish.

Every guy wants to fuck a 17 y/o. But in Ant's case he actually does it? Why is he able to do it? Because he's rich, famous and an actually funny human being. Most guys can't fuck a 17 y/o b/c they don't have the things or tools Ant has.

I could fuck 16 yr olds if I wanted too, but I choose not to.

It's called having self respect.

they like the same shows ! the view and real housewives

They both have tits too.

ME: Lynsi, I forgot to put mine in the warssssh yesterday, can I borrow your bra today? Wanna look good for the boys

Ope's probably got the biggest tits though.

patrice tried to make the case, which i believe anthony and jim accepted, that none of them would be with the girls they're with if it weren't for fame and money.

Opie just about lost his shit, and tried to say that he would have met lynsi even if he had never gone into radio, i seem to recall.

at the same time he was also paying for her college expenses for "photography". a frequent bit on the show was why she would put up with someone like him being so cheap and doing things that were terribly inconvenient (like making her sit on the passenger side of a car with no heater in the winter) and i think it's pretty obvious why.

i would say good for him for having the means and getting some, but he really is delusional that he can't see what it is for what it is.

He met her at the meet and greet they did at Dave & Busters in Philly, when they were doing their promotional tour after they signed with XM. So, no, he wouldn't have met her unless he was a famous radio personality.

He might have met Lynsi. And her dad would have said "Sir, could you stop staring? You're making us uncomfortable."

"He wanted to believe she gave him all that fuckin' pussy because he was cool."

Opie never really got Patrice. I think Opie knew that Patrice made for good radio (this might be giving Opie too much credit, though as far as I remember it was Opie's call to have Patrice on) but Opie never understood what Patrice was talking about. Probably because Opie thought he knew more about women than anyone, but when Patrice came along and actually did know more, Opie's mind wasn't capable of processing it.

There was a show where Patrice and Louis and Bawby and black Gavin were in, the one where they showed those guys "2 Girls 1 Cup," a half-FM/XM show that Patrice had to leave halfway through. When the XM half started Opie dropped a seriously hateful-sounding line about how now that Patrice wasn't there shitting up the room they could relax and have a real show. Nobody acknowledged what he said. Up to that moment it had been one of their best shows in a long time, but Opie experienced it differently and said Patrice was the problem.

I have no idea and don't care how they related in real life or who did what for whom or why, but that's the one on-air Opie/Patrice moment I believe. It was so bare.

I'm sure Patrice made Opie tense. Patrice was always a force of nature on the show, and he could attack anyone. Opie was afraid of that, always with the greggshells with that one.

I loved Patrice on the show but at times he did have a tendency to disrupt the flow and control the room a bit too much. It's why while he was always my second favorite guest (Colin Quinn number 1) at times I was disappointed Jimmy was out and Patrice was in.

I guess that's true. But I like Patrice more than I liked O&A anyway. Louis CK got me started on listening to O&A, and after that I decided to hear other stand ups on there. Patrice was what got me hooked.

Opie doesn't get anything.

I know when he talked relationship advice, he always talked like Patrice was from some alien world bring advice to people that had nothing to do with earthlings. Well, I remember Ant would say the same stuff too though.

Ant kinda seemed not to get it to a little bit of a degree, but Ant also seemed blown away by how much sense it made and how Patrice obviously would not take any woman's shit.

Opie seemed to think it was wrong what Patrice was doing, that it was some crazy black guy thing, instead of simply having some self respect.

"So Lindsy, what first attracted you to the millionaire Opie Raqio?"

Even guys with regular jobs that drive regular cars know that their jobs/cars have helped them get whatever type of women they're getting.

I remember Opie telling a story in which Lynsi made him learn how to skateboard. Of course, his center of balance was offset by his large breasts, so he had to borrow a sports bra from Lynsi's wardrobe.

While learning how to properly position himself on the skateboard, which she mentioned was designed by Bam Margera, he received a text from his brother who owns F.H Riley's. Their business partnership is a peculiar one, Opie agreed to finance his brother's restaurant under the condition that it retain the mediocrity and generic fervor of an Applebees or TGIF's. Opie's a good numbers guy so he drafted some fiscal projections to outline how they would exercise their budget to attain a mediocre environment and serve comparably standard foods.

While Opie was ruminating over the text from his brother, who was outraged at a series of algebraic errors in Opie's recent budgetary calculations, he adjusted the strap of his sports bra and in doing so lost his balance and hit his head on the pavement.

Unfortunately, Opie's prescription bottle for irritable depression disorder was unscrewed in his short pocket, and the pills inside spilled out across the pavement like a horde of fat people in an Arby's sponsored scavenger hunt.

When Lynsi returned from the pharmacy with a bag of freshly developed photographs, she was horrified to discover Opie passed out in the garage with pills scattered everywhere. Assuming that he committed suicide, she rushed to his body and shook his shoulders. When Opie woke up, he saw the freshly developed photographs in Lynsi's bag which was on the ground.

The next day he belittled Bobo, talked over his guests, snapped at his interns, sobbed between breaks, rambled incoherently, and abused Kenny.

When he returned home, upon learning that his wife was at the gym, he ransacked her closet and found the stack of photographs. In them, his peckah was so big that it was as big as the empire state building.

He had a 3 day wedding.

Yeah ok, fucking dope.

I mean, deep down I'm sure he knows it was the money. Or you'd hope he knows anyway. He was probably just trying to convince himself more than convince Patrice.

I can't tell if this is just reddit being reddit, or if it actually happened...

I kind of remember it as well. I remember as soon as Patrice was talking about it, it had the chance to get awkward. It's pretty obvious if you've ever seen pics of the Opester's wife.

My favorite part is that, assuming everything Opie says is true (which it isn't), it means he's a staggeringly ungrateful asshole who doesn't appreciate success.
