The intelligence deprivation show

Opie listens to Joe Rogan he fucking knows if he listened to more than 3 podcasts ever

Rogan talked about his deprivation chamber ON the O&A show before. It's where I first heard that you could book time in one, or even just flat out own one.

It's stuff like this that is enraging.

A few weeks ago, he asked Robert Klein "who is your favorite politician of all time...and why?"

Hey, Tater Tits - a word of advice: just because your mouth is making noises doesn't mean it's worth listening to.

I have a signed Eisenhower rookie card. He doesn't have the Jap kill rate that Truman did but he's still one of my favorite politicians.

You guys are such fucking marks. Opie asked if there are any lights or music b/c he already knew there aren't any, THAT'S THE BIT.

Better yet...he did a LLLLLLLLOT of pee pee poo poo humor! That's the part you haters are forgetting.

Pee pee in the tank, poo poo in the pool, warsh his "swampasstm" out in the pool with his hand, jerk off in the tank and spray spermies all over...you know...his best material.

So is nobody going to mention that the guy actually said yes, they play music if people want it?

hey Drunken wizard, people do have music playing in those chambers sometimes you dumb fuck. What happened to you life where you get all excited that maybe the millionaire said something stupid. You sure got him didn't ya?

The goal of the experience, as the name would suggest and as I've heard people like Rogan and Soder explain it, is to reach a certain mental state that is reached by depriving yourself of all stimulation of the senses. That is why it would seem counterintuitive to me to even wonder if throwing on some tunes and turning some lights on would enhance the sensory deprivation experience.

And yet it's not uncommon to have music in them:

The reason sensory deprivation is awesome is because your brain starts devoting activity that otherwise would be going to analyzing your senses, to other things (creativity, introspection, hallucinations, etc.).

Adding music means your brain can now focus some of that activity on the noise, but there can be lot more of your brain still going crazy. Even if your brain focuses entirely on the music, that is an awesome experience in and of itself.

Your opinion that the tanks aren't as useful with music has little to nothing to do with you wrongly critiquing Opie for a question/assumption that turned out to be a correct.

Cool post.
