If Patrice was still here

Forget about which side you're on and who's a hater and who's not, I have a feeling all this bullshit wouldn't be happening if Patrice was here. He wouldn't just sit by and let it be Anthony vs Opie. I think Patrice would bash these two to the point of no return for an inevitable make up. The whole thing just stinks.

After Patrice died, something changed. The regulars stopped coming by as much. I understand people live in LA like Burr or started doing a podcast like Fat Bob and Vossssch, but if was such a fun thing to do for them, why not keep doing it? I actually look forward to Vos coming on JO in the Mornin' now cuz it always turns into a smash fest and I get a little glimpse of the good old days. Florentine and Soder and Sherrod are ok but they don't talk shit nearly as much for a man of my tastes.

Yeah there was a weird balance of powers that existed when Patrice was around that helped out, especially with the post-FM, post Sirius merger. Not in any business sense, but making those shows fun to listen to (Burr and CK were still coming by a lot around that time, so that helped)

Yeah, but they caught Patrice, Burr, CK, Bobby Kelly, Colin, etc. when their stars were on the rise. CK and Burr are superstars now. Patrice was about to become one. Colin is absolutely revered by other comedians. Bobby Kelly has his own podcast and a tv show now. O&A helped get them there but they've all graduated now to dropping in once or twice a year. They were all part of Jimmy's crew while he himself was on the rise. The key is to probably find a third mic who is at where Jimmy was 15 years ago. That person can then help identify and bring in the future Patrices, Burrs and CKs to infuse new energy into the show. Remember that part of what caused the infamous Philly incident was that the fans weren't all that familiar yet with Burr. Same will be true of the future Burrs that come in. Fans won't like the new guys at first but then will grow to love them (so long as their talent and performance justifies it)

Yeah I agree. I said it in an earlier thread, but there's not way Patrice wouldn't have read the situation and EXPLICITLY explained to both of them what the fuck was going on.

Maybe not to Anthony, but he would have told Opie the Erock wisdom of doing a show soon into the start of TACS.

Weirdly enough (considering their personalities) Opie and Patrice did listen to each other's advice.

Oh I didn't see the other thread but yeah I agree. Patrice was a great devils advocate. Everyone talks about the "Gregshells" and I guarantee you Patrice wouldn't intimidated to say anything to either Ant or Opie.

He seriously would have been the perfect mediator. Bummer.

Every goddamned day.

He would have just stopped coming on the show like everyone else.

I doubt that. Patrice said he loved doing radio with them because he liked to talk. Great thing about him is that he can talk about a blade of grass, and it would be interesting. He may not have come on as much but he's the type of guy that would never forget about the show.

He's not like the other guys that focus on their career, and everything else gets put on hold. There's a balance with him. He would still do his comedy thing, while still going to the Cellar and shitting on everybody, while going to both TACS and O&J, and explaining to them all why they're acting like a buncha women.

Doubt it

enough already with the deification of patrice. Patrice wasn't good at saving his own career or life, nevermind Anthony's. O&A fans have somehow turned Patrice into some magical negro character who would fix everything that sunk O&A. Quit making Patrice out to be Baggar Vance. Patrice didn't build bridges, he burned them.

Its not a fucking deification of Patrice, its recognizing the reality of the situation. Chill the fuck out. Patrice burned bridges but he had a connection to O&A, Tough Crowd, the entire NY comedy scene that made O&A thrive.

BLASPHEMY!!!

Dude nobody is doing this. Was Patrice not great at making people see a different view? Did he not always let people know what he was thinking? I'm just saying that if he was alive he would be bashing the both of them for how childish they are being.
