I feel he contributes quite a bit. in the funny dept. Maybe not furthering the discussion but I dont listen for deep pondering and that bs, I listen for the jokes. The person who doesnt contribute shit imo Karen (or maybe it's Katelyn? i dont know but you know the one) oh I want to kill her majority of times for her PBS lecture style. I mean it can be good for i guess conflict and not having everyone too agreed but usually she just sucks
I don't think either of the girls are really bad, but they're basically the same. They're the same age, have similar voices, hold similar views. The only real difference is one of them is fucking Metzger, but I think they still contribute more than Sherrod.
Yeah i should be clearer - they do contribute, i just don't really appreciate their contributions. Too much lecturing from late 20 year olds and too little funny. Agree on Sherrod though.
I like Luis J Gomez on YKWD because there's Bawby to tug the leash & keep him in line. On his own it feels that he's trying too hard to be outrageous & shocking.
How about the long ass pauses where they can't come up with jokes, the jokes that bomb but people laugh at, the insider stories about people you've never heard of and never will?
I watched the Sam Roberts episode, and while I enjoyed it, I think I'm out of the demo. I found the crowd a little distracting, too. One dude in the audience was alternately eating chicken wings and napping.
Also, there was more than a little too much talking over each other. Calm the fuck down; you'll get your chance.
And it seems to be a very incestuous world; lotsa inside references I don't get, and it seems like you've really got to immerse yourself in that world to get the full experience.
But there were laughs in there, and Oakerson keeps things moving.
I guess I just prefer people who have been traditional broadcasters before they became podcasters. I like the polished presentation. I'm talking about dudes with years in radio, not to mention several decades of life experience. Artie Lange, Anthony.........if I'm honest, I'd probably take Adam Carolla and Dennis Miller over LoS, too.
I prefer the audio podcast. I'll only check out the video if something happened that a visual is good for. They do talk over each other a lot, which they freely admit. Luis's other podcasts are way calmer, I assume Dave's is too. LOS is like a free for all.
I could never get very far into a YKWD episode for that very reason. 18 people fighting to be heard over everyone else is absolutely exhausting to listen to.
Not enough race talk, bitching about liberals, tired impressions and lame shock jocky jokes about trannies and genitalia to win over a lot of O&A "pests"
In all reality it's the funniest podcast around. They actually prioritize funny over pontification, which is something that might be shocking to a lot of O&A fans.
The thing is though Big Jay IS that podcast. I like Luis J Gomez and Dave Smith but they are just normal podcast guys that don't really set themselves apart, Jay is the X factor that consistently gets the big laughs. The talking over each other can get absurd... a normal story will take way too long.
I was really hoping that Big Jay and Soder show was going to happen I honestly think that show would have been leagues above everything else.
Just listened to TACS with Legion of Skanks and I don't know what Big Jay's deal is...saying radio is tough for him...he was GREAT and I'm a big fan but when he was on O and A and on TACS as a solo guest it was a bit awkward.
New listener here, I just can't get past that it isn't o&a. That is all I listened to for years in terms of talk radio. There is too much talking over each other with los. It's like 4 or 5 people continously vying for their story to be told. I still haven't laughed at LOS like I did to o&a.
its never coming back????? wow no shit. i am going to be disappointed either way whether there is no new o&a or i listen to podcasts that i don't find funny.
I've listened to a handful of episodes, and they've been very hit-or-miss. The latest episode was fantastic, however, featuring both O&A breakup chat and a belated beating of Iliza Shlesinger

It's probably the best alternative to O&A now that Ron and Fez is over.
12 HugsMcbear 2015-04-12
Are you suggesting that it's the best. thing. going...today? (Waoooo!)

Either LoS or Race Wars, both are pretty funny.
9 brstevens 2015-04-12
I like Race Wars but Sherrod Small really contributes nothing other than unfunny one liners and everyone just basically ignores him.
Personally, I'm a fan of High Society Radio.

Theres two girls, Karen and Katelyn. One is Metzger's girlfriend. the other is overly opinionated about social issues. Neither contribute really.

Wouldn't a better alternative to OnA, be OnJ or TACS? At least those shows have either O or A on them.

Big Jay is perfect for radio but Luis J Gomez can ramble like a dummy and Dave Smith just seems like a tool.
2 THAT_N_GGER_GUY 2015-04-12
Speaking as a hole, Dave Smith is incredibly hot but seems like a monumental douche. I'd gladly hatefuck him, hmu

Recently have gotten into it and I really like it. It has that younger O&A vibe to it too.
3 K1bbler 2015-04-12
It's definitely taken the edge off the O&A split.

I latched on to carolla after the o a split. I could not have been happier.
8 ZombieMegaMan 2015-04-12
Best podcast right now in terms of comedy. It used to be YWKD but bobby constantly having more than 5 people on a fucking show just kills it.
2 TacoTrots 2015-04-12

Plus bobby never lets anyone finish a story.
6 TheDarkFezRises 2015-04-12
I like it. The three of them work well together and they aren't scared to say what they really think.
6 [deleted] 2015-04-12
As a hardcore dude myself I think Luis Gomez is also a very hardcore dude
6 jiggabooooooooo 2015-04-12
I like it. Lots of hate for Luis but without him there really isn't a show. Hes the punchline.

4 BlackPeopleBark 2015-04-12
I'm starting to like it. My only complaint is that there's way too many interruptions/talking over people. It's basically the Opie & Bobo Show.
2 JMueller2012 2015-04-12
Then why would you like it?
3 BlackPeopleBark 2015-04-12
Funny jokes and stuff.
-5 iamcolinquim 2015-04-12
Thanks to Luis J Gomez, the Opie of the show.
4 ValleyChippah 2015-04-12
Hilarious. All are funny but I think they talk over each other a tad bit too much. Gomez interrupts like no other.

3 maynardsabeast 2015-04-12
It's ok. A little too sloppy and all over the place and Gomez annoys the living fuck Outta me. Big Jay is the fucking man though
3 LalahComplex 2015-04-12
Funny but hard to listen to. They ADD bounce between topics, ask each other questions then steamroll over the answers.
2 dirtyernie23 2015-04-12
Downloaded a couple and plan on giving it a shot. Anything at this point will be better than O&J.
1 Lasagna_Hat 2015-04-12
It certainly is better. It takes a minute to get used to the free-for-all atmosphere, but there are so many great lines.
/r/legionofskanks has a bunch of posts about which episodes to start with
2 Choodness 2015-04-12
Don't care for it.
2 kimchifart 2015-04-12

Best podcast going outside of TACS. Tried a good 15 podcasts after OA split, and hands down the best. Not even close.
1 really-wise_-things 2015-04-12
I personally enjoy it. It's a different format and often more sloppy.
It is entertaining fairly consistently, though.
