Opie's been saying that since last July. Anytime Ant's firing or what Opie and Jim were going to do in October was brought up by anyone, including himself, he would throw that out there.
I'm on mobile. But if you listen to Ope's first show back after the firing, he says Anthony always wanted to move on. He also says, "Anthony told me he was getting sick of this place, anyway."
He maintained this line for approximately 4 months - until Anthony said during a TACS that He never wanted to leave and would still be at SXM if it were up to him.
Opie then changed his tune to "I always thought Anthony wanted to move on."
That stayed around for a while - until last week, when Opie introduced his alt-reality of "splitting the show, he has his, I have mine. One in the morning the other in the evening. That would definitely help the channel and preserve the O&A brand."
Anthony replied that he had never heard of this "plan" and wasn't part of any discussion related to it.
It's not on anyone to prove anything. If you want to hear it so bad, go pull up any YouTube clip from O&J involving the split and you'll hear it. That's where I heard it so I know it exists.
Opie said it was "obvious" Ant wanted to do his own things numerous times because he built a studio in his basement so him and his girlfriend could get drunk and watch TLC on an irregular basis.
