At this point, who besides Erik would Anthony be trying to protect (both professionally and as his current mole at Sirius) by declining to reveal to the reporter who he meant to send the text to? Everyone else from that era of the show is either dead or Sam, and I really don't see Mr. Roberts' genetically abnormal small testicle size permitting him to carry out such long term subterfuge against his maker.
Not only that, but just as today's article dropped, Erik deleted a recent Tweet that was apparently a nod to "The Prisoner," a 60s British sci-fi show about "manipulation, subterfuge, and things never being what they seem."
Either way, the fans in no way deserve to know who that text was originally intended for, but would almost certainly find the ensuing chaos on both shows at least marginally entertaining to watch unfold until we inevitably lose interest again after a few days. Anthony, comment?

Agree. Danny has been out of the picture for a long time and isn't friends with either show, so Ant would have no problem saying it was him. The more I think about it, the more plausible it seems that Danny tweeted about it just to make it seem like he's the one the text was being sent to just to be a cunt....because he's a cunt!

My pet theory is that Ant and Jim spent a large chunk of the show making fun of Opie, but they did it with their phones.
Here's the evidence:
1) Ant won't say who he was texting
2) Opie thinks Ant was texting Jim
3) Jim threw up a smokescreen by saying that Ant was probably texting his GF
4) Jim's smokescreen makes no sense, because when you're texting someone who's not in the room you would give some context for what's going on, and Ant didn't do that.
TLDR: Opie is right, Ant was texting Jim.
