Why would the staff even care? It's not like defending their boss would garner them more favor or a pay increase. Opie doesn't care about the haters.

No. Honestly, checking out the post history of a few of the people defending Opie around here, a few of them seem to be the "Ant is a dumb gun loving racist and only dumb truckers like him" crowd and I guess in an Opie vs. Ant beef they have to take Opie's side.
