they could cut the fat and just have Jim, Bob Kelly and Sam and it would actually be a funny show. Was never sure why Tom Papa was a regular, never once made me laugh and often tramples on others jokes.
That would only matter if his stories were entertaining. He never elicits a laugh, and he's an utter bore. I don't hate him for any reason other than that he adds zero. Wait no, I'm wrong. He sings a lot. His world is showtunes. I don't care if he's a fag, that's cool, but fuck showtunes. And fuck showtune-y fags. He also tries to get his showtune-y faggy lines to catch on and become a recurring theme on each show. He's obviously taken advice from opie on how to do radio, which is the worst thing a person could do.
I wonder if they will grill Iliza over her hypocrisy about the Ari Shaffir thing? Given she has made fun of how other women look for years and has used the real names of people she knew to mock them in her pathetic attempts at comedy.
Nah. Who am I kidding? This show is the walking dead.
In her response after taking time to write an "eloquent article" she says she can't believe people are really taking the time to pull up her old material. Yet the Ari video is from two years ago. Her whole response was contradictory
Back in September, they weren't so thrilled with DeRosa's comments to Ant. Unless Joey realized the error of his ways, please, let's tweet this to Ant, get his ass riled up.
They knew when a line was good, and knew how to deliver it. The rest of the people there knew when a line was good, and knew to let them go by clamming up in anticipation. Then they all laughed in unison to isolate and punctuate it for the radio listener. Point is, they were a cool tight group and knew their shit. Unlike most people.
Also, they knew that when someone was going for a big line, they also clammed up because it had the potential to be a huge bomb, which they were salivating for most of all. End result is it was more listenable than pretty much anything.
I gave the show a quick listen this morning because (a) I signed up for a 30 day free trial the other day to hear Opie’s response to Anthony and (b) I thought there might be a sliver of a chance that they address Anthony’s Newsweek article, since Opie and Jimmy were both contacted about it last night (they don’t).
Immediately I hear them talking about some guy that was in Big Hero 6, and Opie does his usual – “I used to like the movie the first 25 TIMES my kid watched it…”. Ugh. How many times has he made that same comment? I have a 4 & 6 year old and there are a few movies they’ll watch a few times, but never to the extent that Opie makes it out to be with every person on the show that was in a kids movie. Either he’s loying or they’re shitty parents that stick the kids in front of a TV screen for hours a day when they’re babysitting (hahahaha…get it? Because it’s THEIR kids! Hahaha…babysitting…)
Jimmy at least sounded a bit energized having Bobby, Iliza and Tom in the studio.
Spot on. I've always wondered what the hell he was talking about with his kids watching movies 100 times. My 5 year old love Toy Story. I think in 3 years, she's watched it between 10 and 20 times in total. So either he's a shitty parent or I spend way too much time with my kids.
Well, in his defense, BH6 is a really good movie. Like I said, tune for when the team goes up against the bad guy in the end. You'll definitely shit your boxers/briefs.
I think the Sloth was being sarcastic. I don't think he meant it seriously.
That's tits' PD genius at work. Please management and he might get another chance to try to get famous from doing another cornball TV show like the one on TBS. He's always wanted to be a big star on TV.
Bash the Sloth however you want, Big Hero 6 IS a good movie. The final battle scene left me with goosebumps. As far as I'm concerned, Disney can do no wrong.

I'd leave Tom Papa with the guys and Iliza. Take the Sloth out the equation and things would be hunky-dory.

Today's "Funny Mofos Daily" features Derosa. Just wanted to put that out there.
And I litterally cringed a little at having to type "Funny Mofos". So, so douchey.

"Why do we have all these guests booked?"
Because you have yet to show that you and Jimmy can do the OPIE AND JIMMY show just the two of you for 3 hours.
Brutal.

Radio isn't as easy when you can't put your feet on the console and play candy crush while other people do radio for you.
8 sikemanders 2015-04-09
opie's guide to good radio: packed house = good radio PERIOD!
10 K1bbler 2015-04-09
Nothing says good radio like an overbooked studio of people all talking over each other.

I dunno. Them episodes with the roasts with Patrice, Vos, Otto, Bobby all in screaming at each other was fucking awesome.

You're better at navigating the app than me. I just keep clicking and dragging until it starts to work. It's the least user intuitive app on my phone.

Opie mysteriously disappears during the last 27 minutes of the show. Wassup with that?
2 SteelyD80 2015-04-09
Did anyone else cringe when Michael Ian Black was saying his house is 3800 sq feet and Opie is like WOW that is a big place.
Then refers to his 4300 square foot place in manhattan as an "apartment"
