They both said that they havent been friends since 1999. It's kinda surreal and depressing that almost every picture of the show is from a time where they were only together for the money. The whole mystique of these two friends doing a funny radio show has been totally ruined. Peckahs.

I think its "hindsight" hating each other to Opie. Considering Anthony unabashedly hates everyone in the world, I'm pretty sure that "1999" figure was Opie just figuring out that was the time period when Ant didn't like him. But you can tell - especially in the episodes Jim isn't there - there was still a camaraderie up until, oh, a month or so ago. They were even girlishly tweeting recently (in a joking way).
