I was a daily listener and have been since 1998 WNEW. A few cruises for Anthony on his legit vacation time and I can only recall one time when he "called in" after a night of drinking and fucking during the 'Antholini' days. And even then, they made a bit out of it by having Anthony on the phone during the show.

That sounded like sour grapes from Opie yesterday trying to insinuate that Anthony had a drinking problem that effected his and their jobs. Not the case whatsoever from this listener's point of view.

if anything you might have to listen to older shows. in the 2009 fight, opie claims "you've missed A LOT of shows!" and I think he is still using this argument regardless of the number of shows Ant had in fact been missing in more recent years

I hate to remind you of Opie's dumb voice repeating something over and over, but Ant did have "pertussis," which was a word that delighted Opie to no end. Guy couldn't get enough of saying it. I don't recall how long he was out for, but it felt long.

It wasn't a ton, but his fair share.

Also, if you listen to those old K-Rock broadcasts, for some reason they liked to fuck with the levels. Ants voice was so much louder and pumped up than Opies, and when Ant was hungover it really showed.

Not that I give a shit, he was still good for a line or 5 during any show. I'd be hungover often too if I were in his position. Dude was plowing news-channel weather women and having the time of his life.

I think it was just the unexpectedness of a lot of them, and how it made it the "Jimmy and Sam" show when Opie was taking scheduled days. So because of that, there was no Opie or Anthony on certain shows.

Remember when Bonnie and Rich were on, and he randomly started choking, went to commercial, and then it was just Jim, Bonnie, and Rich for the rest of the show? He was definitely still drunk/hungover talking about some Italian restaurant he went to and just started hacking and cut to commercial.
