When I try to look at this psychologically, especially after listening to the rant thread.. I think I have the basic jist of what the situation boils down to.

Opie seems to be ashamed of something that he doesn't want to admit to himself. I think it comes down to a lack of maturity and too much success without really having to struggle or do any personal growing. Lets be honest, as well as Opie directs a radio show, it would not have happened at all without Anthony joining him when they were at BAB.

Anthony had lived in California, New Jersey... he took a bus trip across country with no money when he was just a kid! He went to tough schools with racial issues, and was following the white trash path we all follow. He would play darts, get drunk, and put AC units in. He also was intelligent, and extremely funny and possessed a ton of natural talent. He was in a horrible marriage, living off nothing, and he learned what things are more important in life. A good living, and being happy. When you install AC units or work construction you are buddy with people at work but don't have to hang out and "talk" or whatever. Even if you hate someone you work with you still just go in and do the job.

Opie was from a large family and I am thinking he had to struggle for attention. He wasn't really well-to-do but he did have the opportunity to go to college, and I don't think it was on a full scholarship. He put in some work and did a really nice job working up the ladder ending up in Long Island. Being completely honest, he kind of hit the lottery with Anthony. They both grew together though, and Opie did a good job growing and developing his radio style and humor over the years.

I am saying Opie just didn't go through enough life experience and had a lot of success too early. He developed a complex, that seems to continue to this day. Because of this, especially after Ant's marriage split up and they would not be buddy buddy outside of work... Opie took this as some big rift, when Anthony just moved on with his life. If Opie did the same and kept a good attitude things never would have come to this.

Opie knows deep down he really was the main cause of the destruction of the show and sluffs it off as if Ant was ready to "move on". Ant would have done the show until he was 80. Opie won't talk this out on the air because he KNOWS HE IS IN THE WRONG in this situation. We will never see it happen, unless Opie admits to himself that he has been immature and wrong to ostracize and alienate his radio partner that he made millions with over his GIRLFRIEND/WIFE.
