Shout out to E-Rock though, he actually contributed to the show. When he started talking he really added a new life to the discussion, and his question was pretty fair. Nagel is God.
I did have a feeling Fez didn't decide on his own that it was time to retire. He was given a talking to a while back that he needed to start pulling his own weight or he was going to be let go. That probationary period passed and now he's gone.
That was pretty great. Luis has almost no filter. I love how he shrugged it off as an "inside joke" like as if no one listening would get it. This kind of shit is why I like LoS a lot more than O, A, or J right now. They're brutally honest and real, even to a fault. They don't really hold much back at all. While O, A, and J are stuck in this pseudo soft place where they pretend they're these real, honest guys when they really aren't anymore. Not to mention LoS prioritize being funny over everything else, which is something that even Jimmy has forgotten.
They've rarely had more than one guest on. If you think four people talking on mic is bad then I guess you hated O&A with Jimmy and Patrice or Louis CK.
I've only listened to about 5 eps of Skanks (I only get the ones with guests I want to hear), so it might be just the ones I heard + not recognizing all of the voices.
As far as O&A, Jimmy was on with Patrice/CK maybe 5 times in the span of 10 years. Patrice used to sit in for Jimmy when he was out filming CK's first show/other gigs. Having a bunch of comics in + Jimmy was a lot rarer than you might think, and since they were raqio 'professionals' O&A were pretty good at letting people speak (unless of course Opie felt the need to interrupt someone with a worthless self centered comment).
It's not frequently like that anymore. It's normaly Jay, Luis, and Dave, then another comic thrown in. They also put their engineer or Ding-Dong on mic but it's only for segments or when they are being addressed.
This was better than TACS and O&J. They actually did what comedians are supposed to do and made a "serious" topic funny and real. They did the discussion better than Anthony or Opie.
And the times he did chime in he actually got a few laughs. Sam was actually great on this. He had a few decent lines and mostly fell back to let the Skanks riff and talk.
I don't think so. I think Jay missed the mark on that one. I don't think he knows that Jimmy doesn't watch ANY stand-up comics. I don't think anyone held Jay back from being on O&A, I think he simply fell through the cracks. Opie probably wouldn't have him on now though because of his association with Ant.
ne. I don't think he knows that Jimmy doesn't watch ANY stand-up comics. I don't think anyone held Jay back from bein
I actually think the reason why O&A have never had Jay on was because he was considered a "Ron and Fez" comic. There was always a weird subset of comedians that would only go on R&F for Big Jay was one of them.

Sam was worthless as usual today, fuck him. (No reflection on the original poster)

Cool, thanks for posting. I like Sam Roberts...there I said it.

He's clever and a master of running bits. I love the kid. I don't need to listen to gruff manly voices to enjoy radio.

shhh you're going to get yourself killed!

I actually like Sam a lot, but he was really in codependent-make-it-all-better mode today while Jim was staying the course of honesty.

Confirmed: Primetime Sam Roberts reads this subreddit regularly

He used to post, until the Sam hate reared its ugly head.

Luis even snuck in a Bam reference.

Don't you think they have too many people on mic (same problem with Booby Kelly's show).
It's always 3 hosts and like 2-3 guests.

And Sam didn't talk much at all! How wonderful.
12 BlewRaja 2015-04-08
Sam's smart. He knows he's surrounded by funnier people, so he stays quiet. He's a good sport

That was a really good show. I'm gonna start checking LOS more

Seeing BoBo in the background on LOS I realize I want to see a stoned BoBo.

holy fuck is sams head awful
I can't believe that thing is real

did Jimmy block Big Jay from the show?
5 NerdConvention 2015-04-08

Makes sense. Jimmy doesn't mentor younger comics like most of his peers.

1 jammiesoff 2015-04-08
He was on twice. One of the times is when Patrice played the up and down game.
2 Wsallgood 2015-04-08
The other was Ace from Kiss' first appearance.
1 NerdConvention 2015-04-08
The third time he was in with Attell and Burr to promote Patrice's second memorial show.
1 Wsallgood 2015-04-08
So pretty much he picks the worst time to go on and get the spotlight.
1 dejavu4thedead 2015-04-08
Or they invite him when they have bigger stars in so that he gets drowned out #QUANSPIRACY
1 YouStinkAtThis 2015-04-08

3 xyniphis 2015-04-08
Nope, they talked about how sjw's suck in general

The first LOS I'll be skipping
1 NerdConvention 2015-04-08
You're missing out because it was a good show and if it's because you don't like Sam then you needn't worry because he barely talks.
0 WhiskeynPeanutbutter 2015-04-08
Maybe I'll check it out then, I don't hate the guy he's just not my style and i find his voice annoying.
-3 TroyMacClure 2015-04-08
Such a good show, ruined by such a lame "guest".
Need to find another podcast for the week to try to fill the time. Maybe I'll check out Big Jay's other one.
