Jimmy is in a very awkward position. Anthony clearly thinks a lot of him, so I doubt Jimmy was happy to be listening to Opie bash Ant today. I think Jimmy will crack eventually. Opie is basically just using him to stroke his own ego now.
Jimmy's love for Ant's humor is undeniable. He literally embodies the things Yimmy hates the most (alcoholism, ruining a steady paycheck) but he sticks by him constantly.
I think he legit does like Opie too, so he kind of felt bad today, but also tired and annoyed to deal with the situation.
I agree with what you're saying but it was telling when Jimmy said "I'm not in the middle, I know exactly what happened." That to me implies Jimmy isn't a third friend claiming false equivalence between two friends but does seem to know something is up.

You have to give Jimmy, Sam, Erock, Travis, etc all the praise in the world for even handling this today though. Holy shit any one of them could have fell through the ice with dealing with Greggshells and Anthony's love of burning bridges.
