It gave me a tummy ache. Worth listening to though since there were some moments where he actually seemed like a human being. A narcissistic and deeply flawed human being, but a human nonetheless.
I don't think I can do it. I'll just read the summary and put on an old show to feel better. Ants thing I can handle, this is just like a Fez 2.0 moment.
Sure, because a grown man crying in an incredibly emotionally charged moment, being totally vulnerable and basically lamenting what once was a great relationship is awful radio. ew indeed.
Also, remember how Opie eviscerated any radio show that O&A got in a war with when they'd play the old "I didn't even listen to it I have other people who do that for me" card? Jim Phillips springs to mind.
In fairness, I don't think most people could listen to 2 hours of someone that knows you very well picking apart every inch of your personal and professional life.
It's hard to believe he didn't watch, but I somewhat believe it because he wasn't arguing things Ant said. Opie said a lot of things that Ant had addressed the day before, so it seemed like Opie was clueless. Even though Ant's show was a day before he had better rebuttals than Opie did.
HE'S COMPLAINING THAT THEY DIDN'T STAY AN ENTIRE 3 DAYS AT HIS WEDDING GETAWAY? is this real fucking life? this is literally a dumped girlfriend digging up ANYTHING and EVERYTHING they can think of, not a fucking man conversing about his issues with another man. This is SO difficult to listen to.
If you listen to Ant recapping Opies wedding it makes sense he left the reception early. Opie deliberately sat him at a table behind a pillar with a blocked view and away from all his show friends so he had no-one to talk to. More likely that was a deliberate passive aggressive move by jugs
"if you listened to his show, there were a lot of deliberate low blows, impossible to do a show with him again"...this comes 10 minutes after "i didn't listen to his show at all" ... FUCKING GET OVER YOURSELF DUDE.
I dunno, leaving the main day (lots of weddings are multi day affairs and nobody expects you to do it all) to take the staff to Atlantic City is a pretty shitty move. That was one spot where Ant came across as an asshole for me.
I just love to imagine him sitting there knowing he has to show up and getting bored out of his mind in the first couple of hours and then saying: "Who else is bored, let's go to Atlantic City my treat"
Here's why "To tell you the truth I didn't even listen to it yesterday, I have people who give me the bullet points" is bullshit.
If that is true that still makes him look like an asshole. If someone told me that the guy I worked with for 20 years was shit talking me and gave me bullet points, I would then go listen to it to make sure who I heard it from didn't leave out some context, tone, or detail.
The idea that he would just take those bullet points as gospel without listening to it to confirm makes him seem oversensitive and overly impulsive.
Not that it matters since he listened. The idea is he thinks it looks better if he didn't listen is stupid. He thinks that him putting out the idea that whoever is criticizing him and their criticism is beneath him and not worth his attention in no way conflicts with subsequently going on a multi-hour rant about what was said.
Opie directly responded to some of the shit Ant said on his show. He consistently, throughout his hour and a half broadcast responded to things that were too specific for him to have gotten them just from bullet points.
But this is pointless even for me to type, because we all know it's true. Opie listened to the fucking show. It's just plain retarded that he pretends he didn't. I mean honestly, why is he pretending that he didn't? I seriously don't see the benefit here. What is it that he thinks the listeners are getting out of him pretending to not have listened to a show that he clearly listened to, that is making him do that? I genuinely do not understand it.
Poor Jimmy. Opie kept dragging him into it, "well JIMMY stayed for my whole wedding and JIMMY gave me a great gift," ugh stop trying to own him you fucking pig. As Ant said, he's a sweet little imp and you gotta feel for the guy.
It would be tremendously satisfying to hear. If Spuds keeps trying to get everyone to back him up like he was doing this morning, I wouldn't be surprised if Jim gets pissed and hits back a bit.
I was thinking about putting in a pic, but I figure I'd leave it for the super fans. When the guy said he was "mental," I couldn't help but think of it.
Disregarding the back-loading of 5-year deals that Ant brought up,
"I figured if we had a 2-year contract then the 3rd year we'd have a guaranteed bump up. I hope people can follow this"
You absolutely wouldn't; it's a re-negotiation. You'd have a possibility of a pay cut, non-renewal or a potential raise. It's not that complicated. It's amazing how fucking condescending Opie is with nothing backing it up.
Also, Opie said that he was always gonna resign and management knew that. So what's the point of a bluff if the other side knows you're bluffing? Is he really this stupid?
He tweeted the bridge-burning clip seconds after the show ended. How dumb does he think people are that they would fall for this shit? If it were true, this just makes him look worse, that he would react this way without spending two hours to put the "bullet points" into context.
4:51 talks about how everyone stayed after he was fired mentions jimmy by name to rub it in ants face no1 gave a shit about him. Jimmy sits silently like a fucking bitch Dude c'mon, have some self respect.
He keeps dragging people in to back him up, it's nauseating. The only time Ant mentioned names was when he used Travis as an example of a guy whose job was threatened by Opie's "brilliant negotiation tactics."
Edit: And then after his initial rant when he goes, "Anyone?" Wow was that fucking low.
I like how he acts like the staffers not walking is the same as him not walking. Like if E-rock left the show management would go "on shit we need to get anthony back"
listening now.
Opie doesn't get to complain that Anthony never saw his kids or his house. NOTHING Anthony said on his show was even remotely about this type of shit...it was ALL about him on the show and how he treated the staff and the management...NOTHING was said about him not visiting the compound, or Anthony lamenting about them not hanging out etc. Compare apples to apples Mr. Hughes, don't go digging for stuff to be mad about...
"his girlfriend shit was 16 years ago" so that's unfathomable that he'd bring that up...but you bring up him leaving your wedding which was easily 10+ years ago...
you are FUCKING DISILLUSION OPIE.
"...because I didn't know how to handle him anymore". Translation: When they started Opie was the radio guy, in charge, and Anthony was just happy to be there. Once Anthony asserted himself just a tiny bit Opie's fragile ego couldn't take it and he had a breakdown.
Re-listen to the first big on air fight between Jimmy and Opie. Off argument topic Op throws Jimmy under the bus and says, "I have full faith in Hugh Panero and Jimmy you are just a buzzkill bringing the show down with your negativity" (parahrase)
He then Rah Rah cheered on HUGH PANERO and how much HUGH had their back, pushing the show forward.
Oh but later he had such harsh words for ole Hugh and how he never liked them, supported them, yada yada.
Was he lying during the fight or after?? So many lies he can't keep up with them. I am relistening to all the shows. Opie was bitching about Anthony wanting to leave back in 2007.
Personally, I think they'll stay apart and fight for 5 years. Make up...hook up a reunion show which fans will go balls out for...make bank.....just like Cheech and Chong. If they can get over Sandy Kane...they'll reunite again one day.
Yeah ill get shit on, but when opie started crying, i felt horrible. Im not on the same hate level as most of you sniff but i think anthony doesnt care as much as opie does or did. Opie seems really hurt by this. I think we should cut opie some slack. All of you guessed that opie wouldnt even acknowledge what ant said. Got more than you expected, huh? sniff good for opie being open today. Really.
This is a man who wasted up hours of showtime bitching about his stupid chair in the studio. It was pretty clear that Ant and Jim didn't know what the fuck to do with that. It was like the pinnacle of prima donna bullshit. Ant had to crack a joke about it because it was just THE WORST fucking radio ever. I don't feel bad for this guy. I feel like he's a corporate shill who made so much money his sense of importance generated into this grandiose image of himself. If there's an actual scenario that "literally" illustrates everything Ant said yesterday, the chair scenario was just that. I can't find every episode but this went on for days. It was just ridiculous. This is "Greggshells" to a tee. People didn't know how to fucking react to it. Sit in the fucking chair you are given and do your goddamn job. Don't stand there complaining about shit in the studio on air like it's not in your goddamn rider or something.
When Ant called in last minute sick, it put me in a bad mood too. Why? Because I knew the show was going to suck that day. Basically because of bullshit like the chair incident.
Both of them come off bad in this. I am sure Opie lied or skewed some of this but I tend to think that some of this from Opie was the truth.
I think Opie did fight for Ant but not as hard as he could have, he even alluded to it. I think Opie knew that the brand was him and Ant. Without Ant Opie knew he was worth less so I think he did make some sort of effort to fight for him. But I think with their professional relationship deteriorating Opie didn't do all he could.
I do think Opie felt sad about Ant and his falling out in 99. From 94 to 99 about 5 years they were best friends, anytime someone is your close friend for that long they mean something to you. Opie admitted that the whole Melinda thing was his fault and on him. I think Opie was fair on that point and Ant has said that, that wasn't a major issue at this point.
I also buy that Opie was the one that brought Jimmy in. Makes sense that Anthony didn't want someone coming in who could possibly replace him or take a cut of the money.
Opie admitted a lot of shit halfway and also lied some. However he alludes that everyone bashing him once they left was a product of Anthony turning them against him. Come on, Opie you can't possibly believe that. At some point you have to accept that you might have done some shitty things in the past or acted a certain way.
I think both men are at fault. Opie's sensitivity and contract tactics probably rubbed a bunch of people the wrong way and brought down the mood of the show. Anthony showing up hungover, late, and taking the show over with his political/racial rants didn't help the show.
I have too much fondness for the good old days to ever outright hate or attack the guy. That said, he came off very rambling, contradictory, petty, irrational, and unfocused in this - the ultimate confrontation. AC on the other hand was fair, measured, and fact-oriented - all while still being funny, somehow. I feel embarrassed for Opie. What Anthony pointed out about many of Opie's ex coworkers having it our for him can only be written off as coincidence or conspiracy up to a point. He's probably a complicated guy with a self-sabotage compulsion. His own worst enemy, if you will. The thing Anthony kept stressing about a disregard for self analysis really rang true. Maybe the Opester was seeing Fez's psychiatric team?
Anyhoo, I didn't sub to Anthony until today because I took it for granted that he'd be back. That dream is dead and buried. Still subbing to the little doggy, buy for how long? O&J is going to be more awkward than a vine of my grandparents fucking. Once the lid gets blown off, you can't just put it back on and pretend like nothing happened.
The bottom line is that I continue to react to this unfolding melodrama like a sad, nostalgic faggot. Thanks for reading and/or empathizing. It's dumb to say but listening to them over ten+ years gave me the comfort and enjoyment of hanging with pals. For some reason I was more forgiving of O's insanity than I was A's stuff because of gratitude for O's role as spearhead and lynchpin. Equity has an expiration date.
He based his retort on 2nd hand info given to him from one of his ass kissers. He's Delusional and a liar. He thinks Ant has been doing nothing but shit talking him on his show and twitter. He thinks Ant stirred up all the social media hate. Ant has barely bought it up and until recently has been nothing but respectful. Opie kept saying shit about Ant that was untrue, the AMA and Yesterday are really the only times he has said semi-negative things about Opie on the record.
This just shows how lazy he has become. Ant touched on how they pretty much came in and turned on the mics the last 5+ years. Ant now is def more involved with his own show doing actual work while Mantits didnt even listen to Ants show instead got bullet points and misses the whole tone of what Ant was saying. This dude is a putz and deserves everything happening to him. Opie was being Opie today. Coming in with vague info acting like he knows the topic which was himself and he still couldn't be bothered with facts. PERIOD.
Hah, there's a fucking bitch fan sticking up for Corporate Cunt:
Kirby Dinglebear 20 minutes ago>
none of you people know anything . like a bunch of girls gossiping about movie stars who they dont know .
its embarrassing to read these comments . regardless of who you like better, O or A, you dont know either of them.
shut up.
I almost agree with him, but this is subreddit is retarded entertaining because of all the speculation and assertions. It sucks Ant got fired, but I'm lowkey happy because once he got fired the entertainment value of this sub went through the roof.
Apparently Ant was 'fucking with Opie's family' when he tweeted about receiving poor service at F H Riley's, though as Opie points out in the very next sentence, 'he DID receive poor service at F H Riley's'.
In cheerier news I just got to the bit where Jim starts piping up and he's being a good boy, still being careful to avoid a tit tantrum but not letting Opie's bullshit go uncontested. I say we declare him an honorary vertebrate for the way he acted on this show.
When he plays that laugh track after sobbing like a bitch it completely nullifies his victim performance. The apex of cringe right there and I'm sure the entire room felt it.
Opie has himself dug in so deep, he can never dig himself out and keep any kind of self respect. He is completely in denial. It's really sad. Listening to his lies makes me so angry, like when i watch those "unruly teen" videos.
This is every speech Op gives after an ex-co-worker talks shit. Its been broken down by everyone but my main observation is Opie cannot stop attaching himself to Jimmy; ant didn't want Jimmy, Opie speaking for both of them even while Jim says repeatedly he can't speak for anyone. Jesus.
I know that mob think seems to be to agree with Anthony but as someone who has personally have a friendship blow up and the person act very similar I gotta have a little bit of compassion for Opie.
Yeah.
I initially joined reddit for this sub alone. Once I got to know the rest of reddit I was relieved that this sub wasn't part of liberal sjw group mentality as the rest of it.
Even though I can relate to 'blue collar' Ant way more than 'college degree, no common sense' Opie, I don't understand the the blind hate for Op. His name is part of the channel, show some loyalty and compassion. He has a wife and kids. Maybe we're the fucked up ones siding with Ant unconditionally.
This is what it is like to listen to a man incapable of genuine introspection. I'm only three minutes in and the shit coming out of his mouth is un-fucking-believeable. He actually believes that Ant plotted to turn people against him for over a decade, and THAT'S why everyone shits all over him when they leave the show? "I have some problems, but ANTHONY CONSPIRACY!!"
He also accused Ant of saying Opie had nothing to do with the success of the show, which was never said. Holy fuck, this guy is a lunatic.
ME: "He's manipulating the haters, manipulating people to dislike me behind the scenes. He spent 2 HOURS trying to destroy everything I have built! WAAAAAAAAAA MOMMY!"
I was happy to hear Norton speak more about why he chose to stay. I feel bad for the guy, and I don't think he will re-sign with how it turned out. Sounds like he legitimately thought Anthony would be rehired. On the plus side, TACS is going to improve significantly when Ant gets his NYC studio and Bennington joins the show. I get the feeling Norton will show up after his current contract expires. Ron and Anthony is going to be the O&A that could never be with Opie.
Gave it 15 minutes. He already spoke on behalf of
Anthony twice and moaned about completely irrelevant shit. https://youtu.be/rLxnfllkGYI?t=40s If I only had the chance
Y'know ... usually a "Period" in speech means you stop talking. & admitting that you didn't actually LISTEN to what Anthony frickin' said is just a dope move. Even FEZ listens to what is said about him!! Maybe if you listened you would know the context of what was actually said and would be better equipped to respond instead of just going off on the usual B.S.
Listening to both sides of the story, Anthony airs his grievances out coherently and in a logical manner. Opie is all over the place with repeated inconsistencies. He didn't listen to the show, he has "people for that" but yet he responded right away on twitter. In the beginning it's Anthony who has the problem, and then later states he doesn't like Anthony Period. He repeatedly said he did everything he could to save Anthony, then later admits he was glad he was gone and they weren't going to go on in October.
It was fascinating to see Opie try to reconcile his denials as his story went on. That said I think the little that Jimmy said when he said it was very telling what the truth is. The greggshells thing seems very accurate, and Jimmy truly feels that Opie did not fight hard enough for Anthony.
I think what Ant said is something I sensed all along, that Opie truely wanted to be bigger and more important than he is. Only way to explain his misplaced attempts at playing hardball with the staff, being unable to handle any criticism, treating people he worked with shittier, etc.
Ant didn't say that Opie had nothing to do with O&A's success. I think that, but Ant didn't say that yesterday. I think he even said that they both were important.
A hard listen. I don't really feel bad for the guy. I think I buy more of Ant's story then Opie's. I think Opie totally buys what he is saying, it just doesn't seem sincere. Oh well.
Holy shit. He Brings members of the staff in to agree with his lies, what a dick move. I cant believe that Opie thinks people will take his word over Anthony's. He was a liar from the very beginning.
The only guy sticking up for Opie (somewhat) is LuneyTunes72. He's a good egg. He even gets tired of Jim Florentine being on the show, and wished Ant had a co-host. I won't shit on anyone who sounds like a reasonable fan who debates.
Also, remember how Opie eviscerated any radio show that O&A got in a war with when they'd play the old "I didn't even listen to it I have other people who do that for me" card? Jim Phillips springs to mind.
It would be tremendously satisfying to hear. If Spuds keeps trying to get everyone to back him up like he was doing this morning, I wouldn't be surprised if Jim gets pissed and hits back a bit.

How?! By blocking everyone on Twitter, and by not bringing it up on your show at all?!
15 chippersonlyle 2015-04-07
He blocked me for simply saying that his wife took the Love Park Philly skate crews dicks in every goddamn hole. What a sensitive Sally!
5 BrogueTrader40k 2015-04-07
yuck. i hated when he said that. like he's spinning the tweets in to comedic nuggets.
1 HoagieBoi 2015-04-07
Maybe he meant by lying all the time and claiming they added 20,000 new listeners.
24 SOLIDAge 2015-04-07
HE'S COMPLAINING THAT THEY DIDN'T STAY AN ENTIRE 3 DAYS AT HIS WEDDING GETAWAY? is this real fucking life? this is literally a dumped girlfriend digging up ANYTHING and EVERYTHING they can think of, not a fucking man conversing about his issues with another man. This is SO difficult to listen to.
18 jags85 2015-04-07
If you listen to Ant recapping Opies wedding it makes sense he left the reception early. Opie deliberately sat him at a table behind a pillar with a blocked view and away from all his show friends so he had no-one to talk to. More likely that was a deliberate passive aggressive move by jugs
13 SOLIDAge 2015-04-07
"if you listened to his show, there were a lot of deliberate low blows, impossible to do a show with him again"...this comes 10 minutes after "i didn't listen to his show at all" ... FUCKING GET OVER YOURSELF DUDE.
0 callmesnake13 2015-04-07
I dunno, leaving the main day (lots of weddings are multi day affairs and nobody expects you to do it all) to take the staff to Atlantic City is a pretty shitty move. That was one spot where Ant came across as an asshole for me.
21 Kirillb85 2015-04-07
Why would anyone go against their boss publicly? Of course Mars is going to say "no you're right Opie, you're not an asshole"
19 TijnTijn 2015-04-07
A 3 day wedding? This egomaniac thinks people are going to spend 3 days with his boring ass!
4 Weirdfellas 2015-04-07
Congratulations on the weddin'; I hope his wife know: she got a playa for LIFE, an that's no buwwllshittin.
6 TijnTijn 2015-04-07
I just love to imagine him sitting there knowing he has to show up and getting bored out of his mind in the first couple of hours and then saying: "Who else is bored, let's go to Atlantic City my treat"
4 Weirdfellas 2015-04-07
"Hello, Anthony. This is Nucky Thompson, from Atlantic City."
18 vatred 2015-04-07
13 panjshirlion 2015-04-07
That's one of the funniest things about Opie: he weaves lies that are almost always worse than the truth.
3 Flamgirlant 2015-04-07
17 duncanhills 2015-04-07
Poor Jimmy. Opie kept dragging him into it, "well JIMMY stayed for my whole wedding and JIMMY gave me a great gift," ugh stop trying to own him you fucking pig. As Ant said, he's a sweet little imp and you gotta feel for the guy.
2 ONAFan2014 2015-04-07
But someone will say "He chose to stay at Sirius/XM to lick Corporate Cunt's wounds".
1 TriangleDimes 2015-04-07
In this bitter divorce we can see who the insane one is.
1 sadfatlonely 2015-04-07
I don't get why Jimmy can't stomp on greggshells at this point. I guess it's easy for me to say, I hate Opie, he's actually friends with that cunt.
1 duncanhills 2015-04-07
It would be tremendously satisfying to hear. If Spuds keeps trying to get everyone to back him up like he was doing this morning, I wouldn't be surprised if Jim gets pissed and hits back a bit.
1 Viking_Lordbeast 2015-04-07
I just wonder if Jimmy spoke up if Op would begin to have some self awareness, but maybe he's just too far gone and would spin that in his head.
16 APurpleSuit 2015-04-07
I used to strongly dislike him, now I hate him. He's mental. Period.
12 Weirdfellas 2015-04-07

1 stro_budden 2015-04-07

2 Weirdfellas 2015-04-07
I was thinking about putting in a pic, but I figure I'd leave it for the super fans. When the guy said he was "mental," I couldn't help but think of it.
14 kol- 2015-04-07
I'm 10 seconds in and it's already awkward.
14 Tgillett 2015-04-07
So Opie did all this because he believes in trickle down economics?
13 duncanhills 2015-04-07
Disregarding the back-loading of 5-year deals that Ant brought up,
"I figured if we had a 2-year contract then the 3rd year we'd have a guaranteed bump up. I hope people can follow this"
You absolutely wouldn't; it's a re-negotiation. You'd have a possibility of a pay cut, non-renewal or a potential raise. It's not that complicated. It's amazing how fucking condescending Opie is with nothing backing it up.
9 CowsAreCurious 2015-04-07
Also, Opie said that he was always gonna resign and management knew that. So what's the point of a bluff if the other side knows you're bluffing? Is he really this stupid?

15 duncanhills 2015-04-07
He tweeted the bridge-burning clip seconds after the show ended. How dumb does he think people are that they would fall for this shit? If it were true, this just makes him look worse, that he would react this way without spending two hours to put the "bullet points" into context.
3 crustyruffles 2015-04-07
And this is why he's afraid to talk to Ant on the air. He couldn't handle being called out for bullshit like this.
11 APurpleSuit 2015-04-07
And apparently that's enough to go after Ant for an hour and a half. He's either a dumb fuck or a lying dumb fuck.
11 mrheh 2015-04-07
4:51 talks about how everyone stayed after he was fired mentions jimmy by name to rub it in ants face no1 gave a shit about him. Jimmy sits silently like a fucking bitch Dude c'mon, have some self respect.
7 DetectiveJohnKimbal 2015-04-07
I'm 10 minutes in and I'm starting to hate Opie more and more
3 duncanhills 2015-04-07
He keeps dragging people in to back him up, it's nauseating. The only time Ant mentioned names was when he used Travis as an example of a guy whose job was threatened by Opie's "brilliant negotiation tactics."
Edit: And then after his initial rant when he goes, "Anyone?" Wow was that fucking low.
3 Flamgirlant 2015-04-07
I like how he acts like the staffers not walking is the same as him not walking. Like if E-rock left the show management would go "on shit we need to get anthony back"
1 Buttpudding 2015-04-07
Sal left. He jumped ship. So even that is a lie.
11 blkout180 2015-04-07
He sounds so fucking angry. Wow.
11 SOLIDAge 2015-04-07
listening now.
1 DienekesIV 2015-04-07
I have dear friends I've known for decades that have never met the rest of my family.
He's basically playing the role of the psycho girlfriend that stores all the petty technicalities for a later argument.
"Anthony didn't remember it was our 5th anniversary of the O&A show!"
11 Tgillett 2015-04-07
If you have a 3 day wedding you are a narcissistic sociopath! Even fun weddings suck after a couple hours.
10 APurpleSuit 2015-04-07

Re-listen to the first big on air fight between Jimmy and Opie. Off argument topic Op throws Jimmy under the bus and says, "I have full faith in Hugh Panero and Jimmy you are just a buzzkill bringing the show down with your negativity" (parahrase) He then Rah Rah cheered on HUGH PANERO and how much HUGH had their back, pushing the show forward.

Got more than you expected, huh? sniff good for opie being open today. Really.
5 Atroxa 2015-04-07
Don't stand there complaining about shit in the studio on air like it's not in your goddamn rider or something.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhOAN1chJ6o
When Ant called in last minute sick, it put me in a bad mood too. Why? Because I knew the show was going to suck that day. Basically because of bullshit like the chair incident.

4 BoDi_Falcone 2015-04-07
Opie finally got that Jiz Show he always wanted.
4 det8924 2015-04-07
4 sadfatlonely 2015-04-07
Oh my god, what a fucking fraud this tool is.
4 jfral 2015-04-07

1 segasarnold 2015-04-07
This just shows how lazy he has become. Ant touched on how they pretty much came in and turned on the mics the last 5+ years. Ant now is def more involved with his own show doing actual work while Mantits didnt even listen to Ants show instead got bullet points and misses the whole tone of what Ant was saying. This dude is a putz and deserves everything happening to him. Opie was being Opie today. Coming in with vague info acting like he knows the topic which was himself and he still couldn't be bothered with facts. PERIOD.

2 Ott_Paper 2015-04-07
This is every speech Op gives after an ex-co-worker talks shit. Its been broken down by everyone but my main observation is Opie cannot stop attaching himself to Jimmy; ant didn't want Jimmy, Opie speaking for both of them even while Jim says repeatedly he can't speak for anyone. Jesus.
2 flaystus 2015-04-07
I know that mob think seems to be to agree with Anthony but as someone who has personally have a friendship blow up and the person act very similar I gotta have a little bit of compassion for Opie.
2 cottonsweatpants 2015-04-07
Major Problem: Opie read some kind of 'bullet points' summary of Anthony's surprisingly reasonable 2-hour show. I'd believe Sam wrote it up for Opie.
I think Jim Norton tried to indicate to Opie that it wasn't as bad as the bullet-point shit-stirring version described.
Also, it was NOT a good idea to come in after an all-nighter, mentally exhausted and respond as such.
Who was the 'Yoko Ono' they were talking about in 1999? I'm sure she was worth it?

2 jags85 2015-04-07
How old am i? I'm 96 years old you cliche-reddit-question-asking little punk!

Fuck me. I'm surprised Jim didn't kill himself before this day came.
2 lechocco 2015-04-07
He's desperately trying to keep that shock jock facade going but he's cracking up you can tell.
The constant sniffling; constant water drinking every 45s; the swallowing and the repetition of the same words again and again.

Gave it 15 minutes. He already spoke on behalf of Anthony twice and moaned about completely irrelevant shit. https://youtu.be/rLxnfllkGYI?t=40s If I only had the chance

Y'know ... usually a "Period" in speech means you stop talking. & admitting that you didn't actually LISTEN to what Anthony frickin' said is just a dope move. Even FEZ listens to what is said about him!! Maybe if you listened you would know the context of what was actually said and would be better equipped to respond instead of just going off on the usual B.S.

There were more awkward periods in this clip than there were in the grade school girls bathroom that Uncle Paul installed those cameras in.

Listening now... so cringy.
1 AJDynamite 2015-04-07
I think what Ant said is something I sensed all along, that Opie truely wanted to be bigger and more important than he is. Only way to explain his misplaced attempts at playing hardball with the staff, being unable to handle any criticism, treating people he worked with shittier, etc.
1 FredStevenson 2015-04-07
When was the episode that opie talked about walking off before the show started?
1 andrewsj1 2015-04-07
Did Opie REALLY use the phrase "uncalled for"? Was it inappropriate too you woman?
1 antimojo 2015-04-07
I didnt hear ant first. I heard this first.
I been a guy that stayed with XM. I think i need the cumia show instead after hearing both sides....
1 stevie_janowskii 2015-04-07

Loyal listener for 8 years and Reddit stalker for 6 months. I cannot remain silent any longer.
1st Comment - "FUCK, OPIE!"
Shit, that felt good. P.s., there's a lot of funny peckas in here!
1 aicheyearaem 2015-04-07
Ant didn't say that Opie had nothing to do with O&A's success. I think that, but Ant didn't say that yesterday. I think he even said that they both were important.
1 SlingerBell 2015-04-07
What the fuck has happened to Jimmy? He's complimenting him on his negotiation skills? Does anybody listen to this fucking show anymore?
1 SHerzog 2015-04-07
A hard listen. I don't really feel bad for the guy. I think I buy more of Ant's story then Opie's. I think Opie totally buys what he is saying, it just doesn't seem sincere. Oh well.

6 Water-in-a-Cup 2015-04-07
It's only what is relevant from this horrendous show.
0 ManTitsSlayer 2015-04-07
Holy shit. He Brings members of the staff in to agree with his lies, what a dick move. I cant believe that Opie thinks people will take his word over Anthony's. He was a liar from the very beginning.
0 ONAFan2014 2015-04-07
The only guy sticking up for Opie (somewhat) is LuneyTunes72. He's a good egg. He even gets tired of Jim Florentine being on the show, and wished Ant had a co-host. I won't shit on anyone who sounds like a reasonable fan who debates.
-2 hellofriendo1234 2015-04-07
I don't like Opie, but man this is really sad to hear. He's making me almost feel bad for him.
2 ChippusMaximus 2015-04-07
ME: that's the bit
4 Buck8407 2015-04-07
You missed the best part. Sloth man actually cries towards the end of his 90 minute me me me parade.
1 Weirdfellas 2015-04-07
Has Ope ever been to Ant's? Does anyone know? (He might have said it in today's episode, I haven't heard yet. I'll take my answer off air, thank you.)
8 TobyTheRobot 2015-04-07
Also, remember how Opie eviscerated any radio show that O&A got in a war with when they'd play the old "I didn't even listen to it I have other people who do that for me" card? Jim Phillips springs to mind.
1 duncanhills 2015-04-07
It would be tremendously satisfying to hear. If Spuds keeps trying to get everyone to back him up like he was doing this morning, I wouldn't be surprised if Jim gets pissed and hits back a bit.
