He's at the point now where he can't remember his own lies.

Don't worry, we do.

He said that? I mean it's obvious that he didn't, but he said over and over that he did.

Yes. He said something like "I tried to save Ant's job. I mean, I didn't give it my all..."

yea with about 5 mins left he said something "I tried to save Ant's job. I mean I didn't give it my all but I tried"

Opie's exact quote about trying to save Ant's job (at about 1:17:50 on the "Opie Responds To Anthony" YouTube video) : "I gave it a shot with Ant. I didn't have it...I didn't have it...I didn't have it all... I didn't give it my all, but I certainly did...I certainly, ya know, gave it a shot."

And that statement right there completely validates yesterday's entire episode of TACS, all of Ant's feelings, and his reason for making them public. Arguably his main point, and one he stressed repeatedly, was that he felt Opie didn't do enough to try and keep him on board after the incident in July. He noted that he and Opie went to bat for Troy, and the same effort seemingly wasn't put forth to save Anthony's job. And he was right. This was arguably the most important and telling quote from the entire hour and a half they spent on it this morning.

Anyone know when he gets pissy eyed?

That as well as reiterating that he doubts he'd work with Ant again. In other words, a morning of contradictions to his original stance that he did everything he could.

He also said something to the effect of: When the contracts ended I wouldn't have resigned with the O&A show.

Ouch...

He also said that Ant's firing was an opportunity.

Then it's confirmed. Didn't like the guy, saw the firing as an opportunity, and didn't give his all to save the guy's job. Though they didn't talk for ten years, they continued doing radio together anyway. But when Ant was at his lowest point, his partner took advantage.

I believe Opie's emotions were genuine today and it's sad he lost his friendship with Ant. But he shouldn't have let that bitterness affect business dealings. Especially when his own mistreatment of Ant's girlfriend was the apparent catalyst.

His wedding, birth of 2 kids & Ants firing. Anyone know what the 5th day would be on the Top 5 Best days of Opie's life?

The day Brother Joe handed him a tape.

I heard it was the greatest wedding of all time. It was 3 days long, maybe all 3 days count?

Do you have a timestamp on that? I'd like to post the full quote here.

Somebody isolate that.

I remember being yelled at by Greenstein. 'You can't save this fucking person.' They would be so mad about some of the things that went down. But I still went down the hall and gave it a shot. I gave it a shot with Ant. I didn't give it my all, but I certainly gave it a shot.

I also gave it a superficial shot to pretend to try to save a dudes job because he had dirt on me even though I really wanted him fired.

Opie gave it a small superficial shot because he had to not because he wanted to.

*peeks head in CEOs office*

"Ya shuuuuuah ya wanna foire 'em?"

"I believe so, yes."

"Chyea okay..."

*slides out of frame like green baby shit*

Since his verbal crutch is to say he's "all in" on anything he slightly has interest towards I couldn't even imagine how minuscule him "not giving his all" is

Holy shit finally some honesty from Shelly

Larry King called McTits out on that

What a delusional little boy he is. This is like if Ringo came out and said John was weak link of the Beatles.

ya. he contradicted himself throughout the whole response. I love the three together, but I always cringe (and hate that he makes me) when Opie seems to be lying. Opie said "management" was getting tired with Ant's b.s, but I believe it was Opie getting tired of Ant's "b.s". Didn't at some point during today Opie said "When he was fired it was easier to make the change he "knew" would eventually happen"?

Why is it so hard for him to describe in detail what he actually did to fight for Ant's job? Who did you talk to, what did you say, etc.

Because its hard to describe nothing, would be my guess

When I heard that one, my initial thought was, "Game, set, match, Cumia." It was high on the list of lines that best demonstrated Opie's lack of credibility. Tough to trust anything that comes out of the guy's mouth.

So Opie, as I feared last July, said just enough vague things to keep fans listening. It's 99% fans of Oand A! Opie didn't earn the O&J fans! He inherited them once Ant got screwed over! How can he feel victimized?!?!?!

I could make a drinking game out of all the times Tits contradicted himself in that pathetic monologue of his.

this is basically the reason for the blow up. and he just admitted what anthony has been trying to say the whole time.
