The dude that I know, that's exactly like Gregshells, simply lives his own life independent of his wife. They're like two people that share an address, but they avoid interacting with each other at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they have separate beds. They're like roommates that hate each other's guts but they're both stuck with each other. The hate is palpable.

I have someone in my family that's exactly like Opie.

It's weird, because I spend half of my time feeling bad for him, because everyone absolutely hates him. But then he does some stupid shit to justify the hate, and I remember why everyone despises him.

Every other time I hang out with him and his wife, he drives her to tears.

It is abundantly clear that the only reason she hasn't divorced him is that she likes the cash and prizes, and once she's able to get alimony she'll lawyer up.

Literally EVERY TIME I see him I wind up gossiping with my wife about how long the marriage will last. It's clearly doomed, the only question is "how long will she hold out?"

Sometimes I feel like telling him that his marriage is doomed, but then I realize that if I did that he'd interpret it as a personal attack and I'd wind up on his shit list.

So I don't say a thing, and I quietly feel bad for him and his wife.
