Ant not holding anything back it seems. Hope tomorrow on TACS he lets it all out. Every time he covered for Opies Bullshit over the last 20 yrs. Its ok Ant. Let it out.
This whole time I've tried not to get my hopes up because I know how non-confrontational Ant is and how he usually tries to deflect any Opie comment somewhere else. Plus I just didn't want to be disapointed. But now that it's actually happening I don't know what to do with myself. I feel giddy like a schoolgirl.
He has talked about his and Opie's relationship a lot... it was a great working relationship but they were not friends outside of the show. In the end I don't think Ant would blame Opie for signing the new deal considering everyone associated with the show probably would have been fired if Opie walked. It's the way Ant was fired that was bullshit and it really seems like Opie didn't do anything to help the situation AT ALL which is causing their problems (especially after MONTHS of bitching about how the shitty management treated them). You know Ant would have handled it differently if it was Opie who got unfairly canned.
Hopefully Jim is getting more money for carrying the current show. A Ron and Jim show would probably be the best option, and if the Stangel bros thing is real they could have some awesome bits. Not sure how their contracts work though, or how long Ron is under contract. I don't think Ron would ever leave SXM... they have the pull to get huge guests for his interviews and he has more than one show on a far larger platform than Anthony could give him. Opie needs to bow-out... it's obvious he's been phoning it in for the last 3 years.
