So what does this prove? I think it proves that Jimmy has virtually no say in the direction of the show in any sense, and that Opie is making staffing and content decisions completely on his own. Which we all know is a recipe for wonderful radio. Does anyone honestly believe that Jimmy would choose to hire guys like this if he had any say whatsoever? OF COURSE NOT. Jimmy would give jobs to the many funny people he knows who actually have experience performing and are known quantities who can be funny off the cuff. Sloth, on the other hand, is so insecure that he cant bring in anyone who would immediately prove themselves to be more talented and funnier than he is, because it would just be more proof that the talent was all on one side of the room, and without the 1/3 of the show that turned it from a 3rd rate Stern knockoff to a legitimate comedy show, you don't have much of a show left at all. So hes stuck hiring unknown unknowns, who pose no challenge to him whatsoever and who will probably hasten the decline.
