Yuck... and then under a minute in he tries to make Mars look like an idiot. Opie asks Mars what sorts of things the company asked him to do for the "new" studio upgrades. Mars mentions some new cameras. Opie then says "I don't even see any drill holes" to which Mars replies "why would there be drill holes? There aren't even any fuckin cameras." Defensive Opie then responds with "oh my god this is why you belong behind the scenes! That's my point!" Why the fuck would they start drilling holes in the walls to run wires or mount cameras before they even have the cameras so they see what exactly they are working with and where exactly they want them? Opie is shitty at getting across the point he wants to make and then gets defensive towards Mars when he points out something very obvious.

"This is why you belong behind the scenes" ugh he's such a fuckin douche

He can't handle anyone pointing out his blunders, of which there are many.

Then the bitchy little cunt whines that Anthony may have been setting up his own thing?

I imagine Anthony feels so fucking free right now. Free from the Greggshells, free from the smothering blanket that Opie has been on the show for at least a decade. I really hope whatever he has planned this year takes off for him. He was the only talent in the Opie and Anthony "brand", with Norton being up there as well obviously but I am talking about O&A as what is billed.

I am so fucking happy that Opie got the &7 mil condo or apartment or WTF it is. That is banking on what? Opie Radio? The gold digging whore will bail on him once the cash well dries up, and it will be hilarious. He will be fucked like Anthony was in divorce, but with child support and ZERO talent.

I can't listen to Mars without picturing that balding PR cop from Dexter.

These are endless dude. And to defend Opie, Jimmy was the same way too.

The 1st hour of every show from 2012 involved (other than Ant's political/racial rants): a boring Opie tall-tale or an hour and a half rant about the studio (chair, trashcan, headphones, etc etc) and always ended with "I'm so done, I'm outta here when the contract is up!"

I'm glad Anthony has finally spoken out. It was a long time coming

Perfect example of what happened a millions times on the show. Exactly what Ant pointed out. I wish someone would find all these clips and make a compilation. They're all in the beginning of shows cause he always started the day bitching.

Opie's bad mood killed Jimbo's "...and fixing them..." zinger to Mars. Stupid Ope.

It was always an obvious negotiation tacit. Ant never liking confrontation probably hated going hard after management and threatening to leave. But seeing as they renewed in 2010 and 2012 and used the tacit both times Ant and Jimmy must have endorsed it to some extent as they would chime in with disdain for management and softer threats to leave.

Myself and the many different staff members of the O&A show were virtually held hostage every contract negotiation by Opie. Would he sign? Wouldn't he? In between contracts all we ever heard was how he wasn't signing. This last stint was one of the worst. I and the rest of the staff really thought this was it. You can listen to the show clips. It was no secret. There is a certain amount of resentment that comes with having another person literally toying with your life like that. Btw, it wasn't a bargaining tactic either. We never got more out of a deal from Opie playing this version of hardball. Honestly? I never could figure out why he was doing it. Dream gig. Huge cash. Sign the paper.

Linger longer.
