What is funny is that Ant looks like he might actually come out on top in the end. I am surprised that more people aren't thinking, and saying, that it could be a bit. Perhaps it is possible that at this point they are now allowed to talk about things and are just pushing traffic Anthony's way? How much does it hurt Opie's credibility that he would be upset with some shit said about him or his family? Especially with all the shit he has talked about people that are supposed to be his friends over the years -- not to mention the Anthony-Girlfiriend-Incident. Though it may be true that they are all this thin skinned in reallity, comics and entertainment personalities are said to be this way many times (Collin and Jimmy have mentioned this many times over the years as well.).

In the end, it is silly to speculate about ones true intentions without knowing the people personally. Something, continually mentioned by the hosts themselves, you can't get from simply listening to a radio show.

Gotta say, it's a little sad to find out how much these two dislike each other. Part of the appeal of this show was that it sounded like a group of friends just hanging out. To find out that they hated each other is a little weird. Not completely shocking but weird.

But when I hear Opie on youtube, I think that he does sound pretty genuine and like he wanted to fix their (lack of) friendship. What I got out of it this very entertaining exchange is:

1) Opie and Anthony don't like each other.

2) Opie planned to split from Anthony after their current contract ended because of the boiling resentment and uncomfortable working relationship.

3) When Anthony got fired, Opie really didn't go to bat for him, because he didn't like Anthony, and was kind of relieved Anthony was gone. When their contracts got renewed, everyone got a raise from Anthony's share of the money.

As much as I like Anthony, its seems like he continually has gotten more bitter about the split has time went on. (??not making enough money??) He started out all cool saying he doesn't blame Opie and all that and now he is starting a feud. I think Opie is obviously lying and being torn up about Anthony getting fired. With the firing Opie got his own show, more money, and more creative control, who wouldn't love that.

Anthony got a bunch of subs from fan boys on day 1. I would imagine that there has been zero growth, because the self-hosted podcast platform doesn't allow that, and probably some bleeding away. He needed to do this for buzz.

I think you might want to view Anthony's 'basement vitriol' video from his 2.8 million dollar basement (which is nicer than your home or mine).

It's not a bridge-burner (not that Opie owns many bridges) and its not virtriolic. He doesn't show much or any 'resentment' and often goes out of his way to give all manner of credit due to Opie. He doesn't avoid his own responsibilities and eff-ups.

How did you fit that up your ass enough to where you could pull it out later? The guys studio is 99% shitty cheap green screen production using Chroma key and a single camera shoot. He's got a few pieces of radio equipment, decent mic, a desk, and a chair. The dude is not running some multi-million dollar studio. If he fooled you into believing that then I totally understand how he fooled you into believing he's the good guy as well.

I could build Anthony's studio in my basement for less than $5,000 and get the same exact quality. Half of that would go to a pro-consumer film camera to get high quality visuals. The rest would go to a basic mixing board, microphone, and video production software.

• I have listened to BOTH current shows as well as the O&A show. I tend to judge people's character by the position they are in.

  Anthony ---- Constantly making racist comments, lost his wife, refuses to meet someone's children, shows no remorse, and takes no responsibility in his personal life; he gets fired & blows off coming into work in his professional life. Leaves a guy's wedding to go party and get drunk elsewhere, trashes that same guy's brother's restaurant because he wasn't treated like royalty and then has the nerve to text "this little cunt can't even look at me" during a show? Someone with respect for what that guy has done for them would be mature enough to overcome petty grievances in the interest of showing some fucking respect to the guy who CHANGED HIS LIFE.

  Opie -------- Facilitator, talent scout, still has a real job, has a wife and kids, shows remorse and emotion over the loss of a great partnership, gave Anthony his career, and clearly deals with all of the technical side of things and contract negotiations. Maybe he's not the yuck yuck one liner guy but his position is instrumental. Funny guys are a dime a dozen and Anthony was disposable (obvious since the show survived without him and Jimmy Norton was a funnier guy the minute he joined the show). However a good facilitator, business man, and radio host is a very rare skill.

• The stories that Opie told just solidified that theory and Anthony's only dirt is that "Opie is bossy and his mood is overbearing". Big bad Anthony with his faux military regalia taking sniper rifle selfies is afraid of Opie's MOOD??? What a pussy. Like they said, they consider him the BOSS. In any fucking hierarchy the boss is the guy dealing with most of the mundane frustrations and this tension builds up over time. Everyone else just gets to walk into work and slide into it like a pair of slippers and talk into a microphone. So from their perspective the boss is just some hard ass lunatic screaming that things aren't going right. It's how things are in every business that is run properly because in order to run a business you need to be that way. Otherwise the rats shit on the floor while the cat is away and one leniency turns into everything being overlooked. Anthony is a douchebag who can't put himself into other people's shoes because he never had to be the guy in charge! Anthony was essentially a guy who won a parody song job placement program.
