Can someone verify this for me. On todays Opie and Sherrod show, Opie brought up Fez firing shots on him for playing the soundboard clips. Opie then began to play the audio of Fez firing such shots, he began to play some of the audio but then never fully committed and went on a rant about Fez not knowing them.

Anthony gets fired, they are legitimately caught by surprise.
Within a few weeks the contract negotiations begin behind the scenes. Opie, being the self serving luscious breasted sloth that he is, takes the easy road towards more money, and Jim follows suit. Both sell out for the cash, and now are trying to justify it in retrospect, saying that "this was the plan all along" or "we both knew we were going to split up sooner than later" when in reality they both would have signed new contracts and continued to work with Anthony without blinking an eye (not literally, see Norton) had Anthony not been fired.
Opie is a disingenuous slut, and he was simply bought off with more money, plain and simple. He has no right to complain about the backlash, as his lack of loyalty is now amplified and clear, based on Anthony's recent comments.
The only recourse for Anthony is to get back into NYC, get a counterpuncher/straight man on the show to provide balance, and build up the audience and guest list.
He should go on Stern, Howard doesn't realize it yet, but how hard would Stern eternally own Opie by giving his channel to Anthony once he's done?

Can someone verify this for me. On todays Opie and Sherrod show, Opie brought up Fez firing shots on him for playing the soundboard clips. Opie then began to play the audio of Fez firing such shots, he began to play some of the audio but then never fully committed and went on a rant about Fez not knowing them.
But he never did play the actual audio clip of Fez talking about him did he? I don't remember him playing it in full anyway. Can anyone confirm/deny that he did or not?

The "split the show" stuff sounds pretty stupid, but i believe that he'd have tried to keep Ant from getting fired. It's common sense that the 20 year show is worth way more as a brand than him by himself.
He may think a lot of things, but I don't think "I can carry this shit all by myself! I'm the real draw around here!" is one of them.

Split show means Opie is then directly compared to Anthony.. and Anthony has a lot more fans, works much better with guests, is more entertaining to listen to, and works better with Jimmy. All Opie has is his picking on E Rock and setting up Denny to bother Jimmy with his radio talk bs. If Sam doesnt join in with picking on E Rock, then Opie is really out on his own...and I just realized I sound like a gossiping hen discussing her soap operas.. wow

Yeah, that's a good point. I'd blame that on posturing rather than arrogance though...I think he just doesn't want to look like he was worried about doing the show without Ant. Hence the: "I was planning on breaking off on my own anyway" bullshit.

I'm guessing he's making a shitload of money. The only way I can see him joining TACS is if Ant matches his salary AND if Ant sets up the Manhattan studio finally (which Ant should do regardless.)

Holy shit. How is it on ME to get my job back? My agent talked to Sirius mgmt. They said no. I should keep calling and begging? What's his point? And no, I never heard a split show scenario. So sorry I got a show off the ground quickly instead of crying for 6 months. Also, talking OFF AIR isn't what the business is about. On air was working very well. If he was personally hurt from not getting fun "how Ya doin?" calls then I'm sorry. But Christ! Even the Rolling Stones held it together and I'm sure Mick and Keith aren't sharing warm stories with each other off stage. We're in our 50s with a working business relationship.
