Then ever since, he's been acting like he was one of them, and he's been trying to convince the world and himself of it. It's the best explanation for his childish obsession with it that lasted into his 50s.

He's that's affrimitve action hire that gets transfered to your office. You and your work buddies always ragged on each other during the day but when he comes in you can't be yourselfs in his company out of fear that he may get offended. He doesn't belong as his skills are not up to snuff and he is dumb but is super confident and takes everyone not talking to him as respect.

He's also the same guy that thinks he's a cool for having gross hygiene. He would brag about not showering for over a week, he'd brag about not washing his sweat pants for months, and he even bragged about scrubbing shit out of his boxers in the sink. He thinks that stuff is cool when everyone else just agrees that it's gross.
