I've been lurking this subreddit for a while (laughing hysterically at the epic hatred) and finally decided to make an account. I was sleeping while OnA was on a loop and woke to this, causing depression/anger. Not sure if it's been posted:

You posted the exact moment I started hating Opie. I knew the exact line that was going to be said when I saw the title and did not even have to listen to the clip. I started listening in 09 by stumbling onto Louis ck clips and binge listening to his appearances, halfway through I was already annoyed by Opie but that was the straw that broke the camels back. It wasn't even the line so much that bothered me but iirc Opie keep playing pukeing sound effects over and over and over and over again. I fucking hate the sound machine because Opie would stop a story and use all 538 effects he had on the fucking thing. The worst was the 06 to 09ish era when if someone bombed they would play the car crash noise no less than 8 times in a 5 second period

The car crash sound never bothered me because it was basically an insult to someone's ineptitude, which was a big part of the show. What bothered me was, it would never happen after Opie genuinely tried to spit out a funny line.

I did not mind it if they played it once or twice but for a while they would dedicate like two minutes to it. It would go, bomb.... *car crash *car crash * car crash *car crash *boo be more funny *some kind of sick joke *car crash * car crash *boo be more funny.
It was annoying as fuck.
