What kind of guests always bored you on O&A?

I always either tuned out or barely paid attention to interviews with MMA fighters, that Sports Memorabilia guy, and Mike Baker.

Ozzy Osbourne. Except for the time he forgot Jimmy's books.

Ozzy's too drugged out to do anything anymore.

Tom Papa.

Instant tune out the second that cackling idiot got on mic. Soder made me tap in the latter days too, but I know a lot of people liked that derailing, parroting ass.

I'll grant that he's a bit overexposed at this point, but Soder at least contributed something. Tom Papa would downright murder jokes.

I hated what Soder did contribute, though. Ha. But yeah, Papa was fucking ear rape. I listened to that show for about 15 years, since WNEW, I can say Papa is the absolute worst semi-regular guest they ever had. I never hated anyone more. I have no clue how that guy is so famous or popular.

Gene Simmons. He was on 3-4 times, clearly as a favor for Jimmy.

O&A obviously hated the guy - due to him being a pompous asshole. All he did was talk about himself and his accomplishments. I think the last time he was in, he yelled at Danny for typing while he was speaking.

Every time he was in, I was enraged.

His last appearance

The Danny Incident begins around 9:00 mins in.

Anyone wrestling related.

Fandango was pretty funny though

UFC fighters absolutely, any time Duff McKagan was on was an automatic quit. Cool, I can't wait to hear a humorless, stuttering former rock star talk about the fucking stock market and finances for 40 minutes. I liked Mick Foley the first time or two he was on, then he got really fucking boring and I dreaded his next appearance.

I remember how much I used to hate Maron on there. He was going through his divorce and just a miserable, cranky, unfunny asshole. I couldn't fucking stand him. Now he's one of my favorite comics/people ever.

I liked Mick Foley the first time or two he was on, then he got really fucking boring and I dreaded his next appearance.

"Now, I don't usually say the F word...."

Foley rambles ON AND ON AND ON. It's actually made me not like him anymore.

All guests that aren't comedians, a few exceptions of course. Especially when Ant was on (when the show was good) then a guest came in and slows the show right down.

Most of them. The worst were when some big celebrity came in and O&A turned into full sycophants. Ant's "take a seeeeeat" usually signaled a boring half hour of radio.

  • Tom Papa
  • Joe DeRosa
  • Whores/pornstars/strippers/women comedians that weren't Amy Schumer or Bonnie.
  • Jim Breuer
  • MMA Fighters
  • Mike Baker
  • Pat Cooper (he made me turn the show off almost every time)
  • Post-Louie winning Emmys: Louis CK (this is their fault for turning his appearances into interviews)

Ugh. I hated the stripper/porn star guests. They never understood any of the jokes and always had that vapid/valley girl demeanor.

Eye candy on the radio. Great concept.

Louie always wants to do the show the way they used to, and he makes it abundantly clear by how he mentions why he likes doing the show vs. other press, but then he gets shoehorned into press junket questions then he ends up just tells the same goddamn boating story he will on every late night show.

but how the fuck do you dislike pat cooper? pat cooper from the time Patrice was alive is fantastic. their episode together is one of the best. his hearing is now too far gone though, so I do dislike his appearances the past year or two.

He just always yelled and he retold a lot of stories. Once was enough for me.

Olympic Athletes

normally I would agree, but I liked that snowboarder chick

I will 2nd you on that. She was a good one.

Non-comedian guests.

This. Jim and Ant would complain about the frequency of guests like Lady Di and Bobo, but I would rather hear from them any day than the boring porn chicks, sports guys, or even actors. There were very few people(not even every comic) who knew how to come in and add to the conversation.

I hated guests and callers the guests I liked were maybe vos and bob kelly and only because it's them making fun of or getting made fun of, I liked Jim Jeffries too.

Kevin Smith - He seems like a nice, likable guy who is good to his fans, but he just goes on and on and on and on talking about himself and his latest project.

I'm a Smith fan, and I totally get what you are saying. I always enjoy listening to him. But if you aren't a fan or unfamiliar with his work, you will most likely be bored

Yep. Seems like a genuinely good guy, but fuck he was terrible on O&A. Although, one of my favorite clips is when Kevin Smith was in studio and he brought along Jason Mewes to the show. Mewes' drug stories are the best.

Kevin Smith is everything O&A were against. He got "offended" at some fan who said "Jew" on his live podcast, and had security throw him out

and then he brings up youtube videos that no one was talking about, and makes them watch it. And just as they are about to watch it, he goes "Pause it for a second...", then rambles on and on about what it's about, then goes "Alright, now play"

STEVEN SINGER

Any athlete that isn't known as a charismatic man. You want a guy like CM Punk, Mike Tyson, Pete Rose, Forrest Griffin, Triple H or Mick Foley? Fine. Anybody else? Fuck you. They'd have these boxers and UFC guys in with English as a 3rd language or whatever and it would just bomb. Like they had one of the best UFC guys ever, Anderson Silva, for half an hour. He's an amazing guy...to watch in a cage. He's terrible on air.

This is made even worse by the homoerotic "Jimmy tapping out to the Alpha Male's big muscles" segment. Eww.

that sports memorabilia guy

women that ant or jim thought they had a chance with

That stupid snowboarding chick.

Gotta agree. She seem amiable enough, nothing to hate about her, but boring as sin.

Blobby

Bobby was bearable until he had a kid. Then that's all he talked about. "Duuuuude, your life changes". WHO CARES

Dont forget how he is the "tech expert!" Such a fucking moron he is..

Every guest that involved an interview

Anything to do with sports, period.

I actually was never too interested with any interview they did, I tended to skip those. I'd listen when they had a comedian friend on, or at least another standup. But interviews with movie guys or sports guys, just no.

The porn stars or strippers or whatever. They were all horrible, except for one. I remember one that was there during a Patrice show that was actually really smart. Or maybe she just had basic intelligence, which makes he a genius compared to the others. She actually knew things and had a personality. I don't remember who she was or the episode, I just remember hearing her talk about Monsanto, and being surprised that a porn star knew about anything other than how to take off her shirt.

  • David Lee Roth

  • Mike Baker

Those aren't "kinds" of guests as much as they are specific guests.

Rich Vos. Stupid and unfunny.

Vos is actually my favorite guest

Gotta agree. She seem amiable enough, nothing to hate about her, but boring as sin.
