I understand there was a time when Opie walked off the show to prove the show couldn't work without him. Does anyone have the video?

The Bill Burr incident was a great example. Opie left the show and the show was awful for 20 minutes because Ant, Jimmy and Bill Burr at the show's apex really needed Sweater Meat around to be funny. Oh wait. It was 20 minutes of good radio that made everybody question why Opie was around.

I think all the Nopie shows were some misguided negotiation tactic. "I'll show these fuhhhkin haterz that they need me!" but it backfired in Opie's face when people gave shows without him a nickname and did the 21st century equivalent of tape trading them under "The Way The Show Was Meant To Be Heard." Suddenly Opie started coming in on a lot more Mondays and Fridays. What a coincidence.

Does everyone remember when Opie abandoned the show for a week after Anthony's mean tweets about FH Riley's? Do you think he was trying to make a point? Did it work? I don't remember how the shows were after that.

When was this?

An entire week of nopie, where is this goldmine?

In the first minute opie tries to imply the caller is "all over the place doing this". Like this one guy is infecting people into having this opinion.

That clip is also great for what Anthony says about not being on board with a racist caller. Oh how things change.

There was a show where Opie "stops working" and just sat there. I think Patrice was in. They united around Opie (as they should have at the time) but I think they intentionally ground the show to a halt, amplifying Opie's job as the captain.

the similarity between him and fez is just striking....
