I think when people call they just understand that Ron and Opie handle callers very differently. Ron doesn't give you much time and really isn't one to converse with callers, quite as much . Ron gives you just enough time to contribute to the show. That was a great segment, by the way.

The answer: Opie is an autistic shit muncher who is too narcissistic to realize what's relevant and that his stupid observations aren't interesting. He watches Anthony and Jimmy relay stories, capture audiences and receive praise on message boards. What he doesn't realize is this praise isn't given just because a radio host is saying words, it's because listening to Ant or Jim there's a pay off with either a laugh or some sort of profound point about genitals or urine. Opie on the other hand thinks the more seconds go by and the attention is on him, the more his popularity grows. He never was in this to entertain, he's in this to be famous. Guess growing up with too many siblings fucks a person up to the point where every aspect of your personality retards to win acceptance.
He also hung up on Kristen Bell one time. That was fantastic. But mostly callers were pretty awful as well. I don't think I've ever felt they contribute in any way
