Or people who do commment get downvoted, called a limp fuck stick and various other things, then decide that it's not a productive or enjoyable experience.

Because this is viewed as a positive comment towards the show in general. Replies would include such wit and wisdom as:

No, as with any message board, you're the minority of the fan base. That's just how it is. The majority of people just listen and that's it. The think the people on here are the majority is naive.

You might want to take a statistics course and pay attention when they get to the part about samples and populations. It could be eye opening if you're assuming all or most of the haters just happen to be in the same place.
