I don't see the allure of Bennington. Listened to about 40 minutes of the last show and didn't really like it. I feel like I might be missing it, since everyone seems to like it.
I like that it is just a couple of hours of Ron trying to make his kid laugh. It is a different vibe from R&F and there is something contagious about Gail's laugh as Ron cracks dad jokes, but I can see how it is not for everyone.
I don't know. I never liked O&A when I started listening for different comic appearances, and now I love them. So maybe I just need to try and listen to their better work.
It seems like O&A has a better highlight real, at least on YouTube. I don't know any series I should look for on R&F.
Yeah Bennington does not have much in the way of highlights as I think to date they only have 9 episodes (xm app says 9 on demand episodes but there may be more) and it is definitely a different show than O&J née O&A. The 3 I have caught have just been Ron cracking jokes at Gail and talking music and movies with calls stuck in. /r/ronandfez has some good clips if you just want to get to know R&F.
I really like how they go deep into topics and make actual astute observations and form opinions that are well formed and intelligent. They don't just go through the news and find stories that they can riff on, they delve into things and make it interesting. Gail is no Ronnie B but she is a good counterpart to him. As someone below me said, her laugh is really contagious and she is a really nice personality to listen to.
It's a most enjoyable show; you're going to laugh, you're going to gain some knowledge and you're going to smile. The chemistry and overall dynamic between Ron Bennington & Gail Bennington (no relation) is outstanding; these strangers clearly enjoy what they do and the show they present is very entertaining.
