this of course is the sorta-famous clip of Opie and Anthony and Patrice watching video of a cop in some eastern European country slapping a woman, and Patrice is as quick and funny as ever with the "read this palm you gypsy bitch" line.
Gregg "show killer" Hughes then tries to add to that, yet somehow picks the wrong part of the line to build on and says...
"Read these tea leaves."
it seems impossible that anyone could fuck that up so badly, that someone could somehow choose the wrong half of Patrices line to build on. the cop slaps the woman with the palm of his hand, thats the joke, yet Opie just takes the word "read" from Patrices line and then blurts out something he thinks he might know about gypsys.
it honestly takes your breath away to hear him try to tell a joke. its like listening to someone with really bad tourretts just barking out random words.

That's exactly one of the signature bits of the Chip character, tagging a joke in a way that invalidates the premise. Chip really is just Opie disguised by a less annoying voice.

This theory seems a lot more plausible when you listen to Opie talk about how he used to work for the mob, and Chip immediately starts talking about being "Lil Chippy D" (the D stands for DEATH!!!)

It's great how Ant and Patreeky have the same comedic timing both of them scouting the Stephen King "Thinner!" in tandem. While Opie is just the little brother that is kept in tow out of obligation. He just detracts from the magic. Times like this make me wish there was a P & A show live from the Compound.

i feel like Patrice single-handedly kept Ants racism in check for all that time; he simply could not label "black people" as one certain thing while liking and respecting Patrice as much as he obviously did. so in a way Patrices death cost us the OnA show too. fat selfish bastard.

im actually the one who made this video (it was a bitch to sync the clip to their audio), and sent it to opie to put on his youtube channel (250,000 views), so i remember this well and what youre hearing there is the hole trying to end the show because it was 10:05 or so, even though Ant and Patrice obviously had something going.
in his defense, they had already watched the video earlier that morning before Patrice came in, and opie was the one who thought to run it again for him even though it was already a little after 10:00 at that point.
but thats why the clip is so short. after that he interrupted again and shut things down. who knows what this could have been if show killer had just shut up and let the pros work.

I think he just sort of tries to tag other people's funny jokes so people associate the part laugh with him. Kind of like how he repeats other peoples' lines ad nauseam like Jimmy's childish "yayyyyy" or any one of Florentine's lines.
