That whole story is complete bullshit, just like most his other stories. But can you picture what you would do if having a conversation among friends, and one of them yells HOLD ON!! in the middle of just talking.
His mother walked in on her son sucking his own dick in the bathtub so the son sprang out of the tub to run naked around the house spouting sitcom dialog as Yakety Sax played in the background. Fuck you, Opie.
He thinks the audience is as stupid as he is otherwise he wouldn't have such contempt for us with these ludicrous stories.
I think the worst part is how he thinks he deserves to yell HOLD ON as if he's preparing to drop a massive zinger that will cause the airwaves to erupt. Whenever Opie has said "hold on" over the years you might as well turn the sound of for 15 seconds. It's never anything interesting.
One of my favorite Norton lines ever was making fun of Erock for rushing to the mic and then bombing. "Watch out folks, gold a'comin'!" was what Jimmy said. Opie makes me think of that alot!
