Did anybody here listen to Opie before he met Anthony?

I know that O&A's audience skewed younger, but there must be some older listeners here. Opie was 30 when he teamed up with Anthony; what kind of radio did he do after college?

I did. From what I remember he was totally demented but could not be prevented.

When opie was on the radio, he occasionally got twisted, which tormented him

That was cringe worthy, and should've stopped at the first verse. Then again, I guess I can't blame him, we've all done some cringe-worthy things in our younger years. Anyways, thanks for sharing, I had never seen that before.

Younger years? That dude was 30.

Well some were amused by the show, and some were actually abused by the show, and in the end some were actually offended by the language that he used.

That sounds like a number one hit tune.

A one minute song with Opie's actual voice playing for less than one second. This is perfect foreshadowing of his contribution to future radio shows.

Anthony is the funniest guy I have ever met but money changed him. I miss the old Anthony

I don't know why you didn't just go with "Anty." I don't understand your motivations.

I listened to the Night Time Attitude. It was typical classic rock radio for the mid 90's

So Opie was even spinning out dated music before he met Ant?

I really think Opie is just that local rock FM DJ you hear in any city. He just happened to meet Ant and was propelled to where he is now. If it wasn't Opie some other generic no talent FM rock guy would be in his place right now. He's the luckiest guy in radio.

Exactly, i've always said that listening to him during Jocktober was always cringey, because he's just like everyone they made fun of, he just got a funny co-host.

He was basically Grennis Falchughes for years until he decided to change the face of radio single-handedly by getting someone else to do content for him.

does the audience really skew younger? i find a hard time believing it. i met them when i was young of course, but i look around and i can't imagine kids today being into it. they've gone "all-in" with the PC shit.
i try discussing bits or points from the show with others and it's opposed to what they find acceptable. anybody else notice that or is it just because i live in austin?

22, started listening at 19. I might be in the minority but i've met a few other fans my age. I wouldn't be surprised if a majority of the people frequentung this sub were on the younger side.

Spuds Buckley was incredible. Opie could have done great things, but he met that Anthony twat ruined what could have been great.

There wasn't a lot of talk comedy shows in the mid 90's that didn't play music. I would guess there was less than 5

Opie who?

The weird thing is that I know I must've listened to him because his station was in my rotation at the time. I always had Krock, BAB, WNEW or Q104 on in the background at night.
I didn't remember him at all when he popped back up in NY in 98.
