Doesn't "It was time for a break" kind of imply "I could have done more but chose not to"?

I used to assume that it went without saying that Opie did whatever he could to save Anthony's job. But in the wake of the Larry King interrogation, I'm not so sure anymore.

The "Ant had a studio" shit is really infuriating.

I was more surprised to hear him say that he would have absolutely walked out with Anthony if the incident happened X years ago.

Yeah, it's rare that honesty can actually make someone come off as more of an asshole.

Opie didn't want to do a conservative talk show with an alcoholic who has a fetish for barely legal kids

And yet a lot of leftwing guys loved Ant, and Opie married a girl who was born in the 80s.

That's not why Opie hated Anthony. Opie hated Anthony because he could riff on shit, because he knew shit, and he was funny. "Stop showin' off!"

I lean more to the left and am a big Cumia fan. It really seems to me that Opie didn't want to walk an edge anymore. Especially with him paying 6 million for his apartment this week. That sounds like someone who is settling in and looking for security. Seems like he was thinking if some shit was ever going to go down he wanted to end up on the right side of things.

"Stop showin' off!" Did he really say that ? or was it the bit you EEEdiot

He did, because Ant did a riff on something he remembered from 30+ years ago. I can't remember what exactly.

Fair enough, but I have more confidence in the potential for Ant to maybe reel it in than for Opie to sprout talent in his fifties.

Doesn't "That's the bit" really mean "this is my go to crutch when my shitty sense of humor reveals that I'm an immature boring out of touch moron"???

He done nothing to save Anthony. Anthony fucked up that's for sure, but not enough to throw away 20 years. I think Opie had become truly jealous on Ant and his talent. He also envied Ant and Jimmy's friendship. Its a story of a little boy that nobody liked

No.
