Anthony Bourdain Interview

I thought the Anthony Bourdain interview was decent, and I was kind of moved when he was talking about all of the horrible poverty and starving kids and shit he sees when he travels, but at the end of it, he says "you can't let yourself get hard," and Jim does a really quick and almost silent "gettin hard" in the Chip voice. That was the hardest I laughed at anything in a long time, because the conversation was so serious for so long. Chip Rules

And then after the show, Jimmy was given a stern talking to by management and King Opie.

That brand of unprofessionalism might have been OK with the Opie and Anthony Show, but on OPIERADIO, they want to be known as a destination for the hard hitting interview.

I'm surprised Opie didn't take credit for setting Jim up for it: "Huh huh! Jim-MAAAAY! To be perfectly honest with you, I KNEW Bourdain would say 'gettin hard' and Chip would chime-in. But that's just the kinda' chemistry we got, brutha!".

A laugh track would have been perfect during that chat, or a car crash...WHERE ARE THE SWEEPERS!SAMMAYYYYYY!!!

How long did Opie wait to chime in with his tragic childhood Pepperidge Farms bread story?

What did Bourdain mean by getting hard? Wouldn't he want to harden himself to that saddening shit?

I forget the exact context but i think he meant he still has to be a human to that stuff. He still wants to have it have an effect on him. He doesnt want to turn cold and dead to stuff like that.

Edit: maybe i should say stuff some more

Nothing wrong with stuff. I like stuff... and thaaangs.

There's nothing more embarrassing when you're pointing and laughing at starving children than to also have a throbbing erection.

No, he didn't want to lose his humanity. He wants to carry this stuff with him, so he appreciates his own life more.

who cares. faggot should stay in the kitchen and off the radio.

he can't risk hardening his heart, it might compromise his unique ability to sip turkish soups and say "ohh thats good" on television
