ME: "Was Venice able to keep corporate America out in general?"

ME: (on Cuba's recent acceptance of the USA) "The sad part is that corporate America will just get their hands in there. You just know it will."
Anthony Bourdain: "...."
The rest of the room: "..."
ME: "You just know it will...."
Anthony Bourdain: (realizing the low level intellect he's communicating with) "Yeah, I hope they don't mess it up."
[after a brief change in conversation to Venice, Italy]
ME: "Was Venice able to keep corporate America out in general?"
Anthony Bourdain: "It... still looks the way you want it to."
This show is the best! Every day is like Jocktober as Opie stumbles his way through interview after interview, making the audience, guests, and staff feel uncomfortable. The best part is that Opie works for corporate America. He's a shill who didn't stand by his principles. Management loves the direction the show is heading. How can he be so oblivious to his own hypocrisy? Retire, idiot fat tits. Nobody likes you.
PHONES ARE LIT!

This is why you don't fiddle your prick and play Candy Crush when interviews are going on. I know CQ liked to give Ant "the business" for his interviewing skills, but even if they were subpar, he had some. Opie's got nothing but an empty head and a dumb mouth blurting out non sequiturs. Opie is much more dumb than Vos and Bobby and Bobo and all the people he mocks and feels intellectually superior to.

Ok, that's enough.
I haven't listened to the show since July, but I still visit this shit Reddit.
After only reading this, I am absolutely sold on the fact that Opie is an ignorant man-child.
Thank you for your service.

I guess Opie thought he was contributing with that thoughtless, generic corporate America comment. The dead air that followed suggested everyone else in the room was waiting for him too expand on it and maybe actually make a point, but to form, he just repeated his tag line at the end. Is this 'steering the ship'? Because I still don't know what that is.

You don't realize. Opie is a man of the people and a force against corporate America. That is the only reason he hasn't franchised his shithole restaurant out on Long Island. He doesn't want to be part of corporate America, maaaaaaaaaan!

im so sick of hearing about that fucking Glorified Denny's!!

Opie might be a dunce, but Riley's does have pretty good food. Or at least they did in 2007 when I ate there.
2 ucfgavin 2015-02-19
Opie also doesn't have any involvement other than some funding as far as i know.

Yup this is the kind of intellect and wit that merits a $7 million dollar home.
9 SocialJusticeSucks 2015-02-19
A millionaire that works for a billion dollar company said that?

Don't forget ME: "I still watch No Reservations every day!"
[Later] Bourdain: They chopped my lovingly crafted episodes up and rearranged them into new monstrosities.
ME: "Yeah, that's why I stopped watching. I'm a loyal guy like that."

He just hears things about certain topics and parrots them over to different subjects, thinking it will still be a valid point to add to discussion, but he doesn't ever even know what the fuck he's even talking about
1 Djs3634 2015-02-19
I don't even think he hears points.. I'm pretty sure he just babbles whatever he thinks the popular opinion is.

I cannot wait until the Heeby Greenstein replaces him and his bandwidth with a talker bot telling the weather for Madison Wisconsin.

I dunno, I thought that Bourdain was pretty good on the show, despite the dumb questions.
11 MonsteRain 2015-02-19
Bourdain was good, but Opie stinks. Unfortunately, you need to work with the lowest common denominator and it's almost always the host of the show.

Cuba doesn't need the maaaan, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.

Atta boy, Ope. If there's one thing a small island nation doesn't want, it's employment and competitively priced goods from an economic superpower.
2 Djs3634 2015-02-19
The "in general" part is key... He usually SCREAMS this out for no reason just as the guest begins to answer his question.
Example:
Me: "you think the Yankees will go all the way this year?"
Guest: "Well I--"
Me: "In general!!!"

Ism y but I read that in a Scott Shannon voice lmfao if we can find a way to change jugs Johnson's voice to Scott's, the show would be amazing

Eh, Ron's the same way.
2 WilliamTellAll 2015-02-19
yeah but when Ron is painted into a corner people just chalk it up to his deep sarcastic wit...riiiiight.
saying the opposite expected thing all the time isnt brilliant comedy.
1 clickclack8 2015-02-19
Except that's literally what comedy is you dumb-dumb
1 WilliamTellAll 2015-02-19
sarcasm/wit isnt just "saying the opposite thing expected all the time" there's nothing clever about that. so no, that isnt LITERALLY what comedy is "dumb-dumb"
time for someone to stop binge watching big bang theory.
