Wrong. There was one show, in 2007 I think, when Patrice said that if Anthony ever got fired due to a racist tirade on Twitter after being assaulted by a black woman, and he was dead, he wouldn't want AntHHH at his benefit.
Exactly. This sounds like a total non-issue. If the story was that he showed up and they avoided him or kept him out of that area, then we'd have something.
We all know Ant doesn't like conflict and uncomfortable situations or leaving his house. Has anyone considered that maybe he doesn't want to be there if those running the show don't make it obvious he's wanted there? Sure he could just show up or call Bill and request to be there- just saying if it were me in that situation and no one made it clear I was welcome Id say fuckit too.
Im sure he would have wanted his family taken care of, which is the point of this whole thing. Besides that im sure he wouldn't care what red headed faggot or pissy eyed wop who gets beat up by girls were involved.
I can picture him calling him out for the gibberish that resembled nigger, then telling him it was ok, she was one and I (Patrice) would have called her one too.
But he would have called him out on that obvious alt+number bar nigger he let off on twitter.
It is my opinion Ant would not have turned so extreme in his "views" if Patrice was alive.
i love how everyone on this board thinks they know exactly how patrice felt about everything, we all know patrice would never hang out with ant if ant was just some guinea from long island without a mansion and a lot of money.
If Ant really wanted to go wouldn't he have called Burr at some point before the benefit and said he just wanted to clear the air? How could Burr invite the guy if he refused to talk to Burr? Also, why didn't Ant just show up if he wanted to be there? Ant didn't want to have to deal with the awkwardness of seeing Burr and Opie after not talking to them for months. This isn't on anyone but himself and I'm sure even he knows that. Also, Burr didn't mention Ant's firing a single time. He didn't use the event as a talking point for his podcast or a comedic bit for his act on stage. I have no fuckin clue how you think he made the firing about himself. By not addressing it somehow he made it about himself? So if he talked about it like DeRosa did, he would have made it about himself. If he didn't talk about it (as he chose to do) he also made it about himself. Basically, in your mind, the only thing Burr coulda done that woulda been right is keep calling Anthony until he finally picked up his phone and then begged him to be friends.
Because when Burr called him he didn't answer his phone... Should burr have sent him an invitation in the mail like he's being invited to a wedding? Why does everyone have to treat Ant a special way? He shoulda just manned up. The benefit wasnt about him, either. Burr was kinda busy organizing it. I doubt he was thinking about making Anthony comfortable enough to show up. If Ant really wanted to go he coulda acted like an adult and called Burr or had Keith do it if he was feeling especially weak or had Jimmy bring it up to Bill, etc.. He didnt want deal with the awkwardness so he sat home. This wasnt "the O&A reunion benefit." It was the Patrice O'Neal benefit. Besides the Ant defenders on the Internet nobody there cares about whatever personal gossipy shit is going on behind the scenes and they wanted to see comics/contribute to the cause.
That's assuming the benefit is about what Patrice would have wanted. The main purpose of it is for Bill Burr to satisfy his monstrous ego and to carry out his own self-serving agenda.
How does this satisfy Burr's ego? He is in movies and was on the most popular TV show of all time. This is a benefit that pretty much nobody on the planet even knows about unless you listen to O&A or personally knew Patrice. It isn't filmed and broadcasted on TV to make Burr look like a great guy and reach more people. I think his ego is much more satisfied by being on a show like Breaking Bad that was viewed by millions of people or going on Conan and being seen by millions of people, or putting out a comedy special and being seen by millions of people, or being in a movie with Kevin Costner, etc. A benefit for a good friend who you came up in the comedy scene with where you literally donate 100% of the money is not about stroking your own ego.

Nice try on the speculation tho.

Yeah well he's dead and nobody cares about what dead people think

Yes, this isn't about Patrice, its about his family.
For Christ's sake stop trying to make Ant not being there to be some great injustice to the world.

The only reason Ant wasn't there is because he didn't show up. No ones keeping him out.
8 bimpy 2015-02-13
Yeah is he to good to sit in the crowd?
1 NhaterJR 2015-02-13

Ant would've been in the green room with everyone else if he had any sack.

Considering Jimmy was an actual performer at the show this doesn't make much sense.

He's too busy drinking shitty light beer and posting on /k/ in his basement.
-1 buttriot 2015-02-13
And now he's in the nothingness of oblivion for all eternity. Who cares what he wants. The benefit is for his black family, not him.
-1 Danielson799 2015-02-13
Ant should have called bill back.
2 c4mac 2015-02-13
Agreed, but that is beside the point. What does that have to do with whether or not Ant should have been invited?
0 Danielson799 2015-02-13
Ant won't even return Bills call. It's on Ant. Pretty simple.
-7 _TheConsumer_ 2015-02-13
Said this a bunch of times in the lead up to the benefit.
If the show were truly about Patrice, Anthony would have been there. They got along really well.
Instead, Burr made the benefit about himself - the same way DeRosa made Anthony's firing about himself.
Two selfish pricks, same result.
15 Rafflespek0 2015-02-13
burr made the benefit about himself?? how so. he organized it and gave the money to patrices mom. you are making patrices benefit about ant
0 bimpy 2015-02-13

Why in the flying fuck should Ant have to call Burr to go to Patrices benefit? Is the benefit about Patrice or Burr?
