You do realize that it was Ant who ruined it right? He didn't need to go inciting violence on Twitter. If he had waited and ranted on the show instead, he would still be there. Now we're stuck with Opie because of him.
I realize that Ant was being Ant. Not any different than he was the day before, month before, 10 years before. I realize Sirius panicked and made a too quick decision that I'm sure they now very much regret. I realize that because anyone that has listened to the show long enough knows Opie's reactions to ANYONE in that studio getting in trouble/fired, is his favorite thing to discuss ad nauseam. Especially when he goes to bat for the person even the tiniest bit, we hear about it on a daily basis. He will try his damndest to turn it into a "bit", a discussion and another reason to complain about management. Which, if you recall, he did EVERY FUCKING DAY for years. The last year before Ant was fired was unbearable. So, now, OUT OF THE FUCKING BLUE, he's just gonna decide to LOVE management and not discuss ONE FUCKING WORD about what he did to try and get Ant back??? HIS FUCKING PARTNER OF 20 YEARS???? His silence screams. He didn't start the ball rolling, but he sure as fuck pushed it along. HE'S A CUNT
It was ridiculous. Opie bitching 15 minutes a day about management, with his usual, "I know the listeners hate this, but it's got to be said". Does it? Maybe , but not to us. I think he talked himself into it being a "bit" He's so hard up for material, he'd use shit like that to listen to himself talk. So, don't you find it extremely odd that after Ant got fired not only does he never bitch about management, he actually says shit like, "Management is loving the show" Like he's all proud of that. And he didn't "incite" violence. He wasn't telling or encouraging people to go commit violence. He said he hopes one of her homeboys shoots her in the face. That's not inciting, that's just hoping.
