You're free to believe these things, but you cannot use them as justifications if you are trying to argue objectively that the show isn't bad. At the very least, you have to elaborate on these things a bit and explain your viewpoint further to validate you reasoning behind them (if you are trying to make a legitimate argument). To each his own, many of us just happen to think the show has been lackluster as of late for a variety of reasons. This does not make the show bad in and of itself, or objectively bad, but it's simply not something people who criticize the show find entertaining.

In what way? I think many of the people who have criticized the show have also stopped listening. Nor do I think you can assert that the people who do still listen only do so to complain about things and to criticize the show. I can see how you would get this impression, but I'm sure there are 'funny' moments in the show at times. I would surmise that the people who do still listen and complain are just frustrated with how sporadic and inconsistent they find the entertaining high points to be in comparison with how often they used to occur in the past.

How do you know everyone on here is a 'failure'? I don't think you can assert that definitively. Regardless, anyone that has the ability to perceive something is entitled to have an opinion on it, criticism isn't limited to those of a high social standing. If that were the case, controversial directions taken by film makers like George Lucas would be immune to criticism, as very few people have reached anything that resembles the amount of monetary success that they have experienced throughout their directorial careers. The notion that you can't criticize someone who is more successful than you by societal standards is invalid to me, as it is fundamentally elitist and exclusive by nature, whether the opinion is positive or negative should have no barring on the validity of the opinion in and of itself from a subjective standpoint. It can certainly be invalidated objectively, but the individual is still entitled to have right to believe it in the first place.

This is what I was eluding to in my initial post, you shouldn't be upset with people if they don't agree with your opinion. You are entitled to believe the show is good, as they are entitled to believe the show is bad. You're free to try and convince them that the show has been better than they've been giving it credit for, but you need to provide further reasons beyond "it has been fantastic" or "it's the best radio show out there" if you were to go in this direction. Obviously some of the 'Opie Hate' has been gratuitous at times, but so is a good portion of the internet, you shouldn't take it personally that something you favor is being subjected to a photo shop or a crude joke. These are classic internet staples, the fact that Opie is the butt of the joke shouldn't outrage you more than any meme or other hyperbolic statements you might stumble upon somewhere else.

Do you get this upset when other people say untruthful things about Kanye West, Miley Cyrus or some other celebrity? My guess would be that you do not give a care, because you don't have a personal attachment to them. In other words, it's not the sentiment of people criticizing them anonymously that bothers you, as that would be true in every case that it occurred to the same extent. Rather, you're upset with people for poking fun at something you still enjoy, which is perfectly understandable. To wrap everything I have said up, I would implore you to accept that people are entitled their opinions just as much as you are, and to not take the incessant abuse of Opie that occurs on this sub as a personal affront. It's simply an extension of the criticism manifesting itself in popular internet fashion.
