Spending the first break addmitting the fact that shit has changed and it's not the same anymore would go a long way in accepting the new reality.
Acknowledging, not demonizing, the fans who are pissed off would help too.
Yea, ok, we don't like the current situation. But many of us have spent the better part of 15 years supporting the show as best we could through everything, and the biggest slap in the face has been the transition and the vilification of people who have any negative opinions of how it went down.
It genuinely seems like the person who is most content over the downfall of O&A has been Opie.
