Remember how uninspired the show was in the months leading up to the firing? Ant was a part of that. It's easy to have a fire under your ass and hustle when your lavish lifestyle is suddenly threatened.

Its true, I think that dullness was kind of a powder keg for when Ant got fired. Especially during the long weekend in summer when you're turning the show off a little more and doing things, and then all of a sudden, not only is it not going to get better, but its gone

that's true but since ants firing he should be doing everything he can to make the show better. this means actually preparing for a show everyday and put some actual work into the show. instead he thinks he can just bring in the same 2 comedians every week read the headlines of cnn.com or whatever and the show's going to be great. this is fucking pathetic.

Except Opies lavish lifestyle is being threatened as well as Ants. Sure opie has a two year contract signed but his new show is suffering far more in quality than Ants new show.

I don't know the actual numbers but it sure feels like at least 70% of O&A fans have turned on opie. And he seems to be putting in less effort than he ever has.

I wouldn't use this sub as a gauge for the listenership. Most listeners don't put in a fraction of the energy and hyper-analysis that we do around here, it's just a radio show they throw on during their commute. Opie gets shit for saying how management loves the show, but I bet they actually do. These are the same guys that keep giving Fez new contracts.

I didn't say I was using just this sub as a gauge but I understand what you mean. I also don't think pointing out the incompetence of management giving a co host that rarely speaks on air new contracts really bodes well for the future of the company. Not trying to be a dick. I think we probably mostly agree on the state of the show.
