This is from a forum in 2009 when O&A had their big fight and people were speculating if it was going to be the end. Somebody asked the age old question, "Why all the Opie hate?" This was one of the answers: The reason for the hate is that he's the one who's trying to spearhead the separation because he seemingly thinks if it were the Opie show he'd be terrestrially syndicated in all the top markets in addition to commanding as much satellite respect as Howard. I gotta be honest, if they called off the joint business venture and competed against each other in the same time slot on different channels, I'd only check out Opie's show when Anthony's was on commercial. Anthony is all about making with the funny. Opie has a tendency to slip into lapses of whininess or moroseness. Opie needs to look in the mirror if he thinks he will do better financially or otherwise on his own than with Anthony. I feel bad for Opie when he says, to an extent, that he would've done fine without Ant. Really? How many years were spent in obscurity before you two guys met? I'll guarantee you one thing, Ant (although he probably wouldn't hit O&A numbers) will do better than Op in any setting away from the show.

I don't. He is way more famous than he should be. He does not have the talent or appeal to be a celebrity and somehow he kinda is. The reason for that is called "Anthony".

He has never appeared humble, thankful, or even really aware of this fact. I don't hate him because he's a dull, loud asshole. There's a ton of those. I hate him because he's a dull, loud asshole who got paid to have his voice heard. An asshole who was a part of a show that I would listen to quite a bit, had top billing on that show, but took away from that show more than he gave, at least when I listened to it.

I learned to ignore him and his dumb shit, even as it got dumber in the past few years with his viral shit and "as a father..", but I always hated him when he talked about contracts, as if he was "talent". I know he was behind the mic, but he gave nothing to the show that I enjoyed, during the time I enjoyed it, and his indignance and self importance always struck me as completely undeserved.

He offered nothing, and if he did get off a humorous line he would say it like he was trying to summon Beetlejuice. I will never feel bad for him. He is more famous than he deserved to be.

I feel exactly the same way. I despise him for his disloyalty, lack of integrity and the cruelty that he tries to pass off as humor. At 50 years old he knows that shit isn't funny. And we know he's a cunt of a human being.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, I like the three guys when they're together but I can't stand 'em when they're apart.

Whether it's Opie hosting by himself or his terrible Youtube videos, Ant's early live from the compound shows or Norton's stand-up, it doesn't matter. I need those three to be together or at the very least, Ant and Jimmy.

I can't take much more of Opie Radio.Last week I actually had to turn it off for the first time in years.
