It would be a toss up between the money and Opie's huge ego and watching HIS dream get taken over by some tin knocking, wop. Opie's ALL about the money these days. But back then, he really wanted and tried to be what Anthony IS. There's no way he could have ever imagined Ant would far surpass him.

What gets you more hated in this country than anything right now? Being called a racist. Anthony has that "scarlet R" and even people who dislike him still have to admit he's a funny motherfucker.

Opie has milquetoast and adaptable political opinions that no one has really confirmed and he's still hated, because he's actively unfunny.

You watch! Now that Ant's gone, Opie will put his boot on Sam's neck and hold him sownz, so he won't be poached by another show, because Sam is Opie's security blanket. He's reliable. Opie knows that regardless how unfunny he is, and no matter how many of his funny lines get crickets, he knows Sam is Always there with a fake laugh to dig Opie out of his hole!
