I have not missed an episode of O&J until this week

Yes Opie's insufferable but I was able to get a decent listen out of Jimmy and the guests making me laugh, Sam subtly shitting on him, and even sometimes it was fun to hate Opie. It was nothing great, but something to put on in the background at work. But the hours of fucking storm talk (he admitted today he didn't really care and was just trying to fill time, which makes it all the worse) is completely unbearable. Easily the worst radio I've ever fucking heard, it's up there with the Todd's and Terry Cliffords of the world. It was like torture, I'm done. Die, jelly tits.

I give you a ton of credit. I "tapped out" in September. I used to be a daily listener from 1998 -2014. Now I catch a show here or there.

It was clear Opie had no interest in making good radio. He drones on (cluelessly) about topics people really don't care about.

Just the other day, I tuned in and heard him discussing cancer. His genius insight was, "Why don't they figure this shit out?" As if curing cancer is not a global goal that has billions of dollars in funding.

The cancer thing sums up Opie: clueless. He talks about topics of which he has zero understanding. He makes ridiculous arguments and refuses to learn or put effort in to learn.

When someone calls him out (I.e "Cancer is literally thousands of diseases, you dope.") he laughs and says that's the bit. What bit?! It's utter laziness- there is no bit or humor involved.

I have Opie a shot after the firing. He didn't even try. He did nothing but disappoint me.

It sounds as if you think Opie has a choice of whether he wants to put on good radio or not. How can you "put on good radio" if A: you suck B: you're dumb C: not funny?

It was clear Opie had no interest in making good radio.

This is the kicker. He clearly doesn't give a shit, knows his management doesn't give a shit, and is just riding this as far as it takes him.

He never had anything to begin with. He was riding on Anthony's talent since 1994. Ant was also able to comedically interact with Jimmy, but without someone there to act as a buffer, Opie tramples everything funny Jimmy tries to go with now. I would love The Morning Jam with Jim and Sam right now.

You made it through the ketchup talk?

Only because Jim was shitting on it the whole time. It was like hearing a live jocktobering.

It's ok, some people take longer than others to break the addiction. You will start finding that there are actually entertaining things to listen to out there.

What are some of these entertaining things?

Ron + Fez, Legion of Skanks, Race Wars, You Know What Dude, etc. It's hard to get specific because some people are polarizing (Kevin Smith, Rogan, Carolla) but there are hundreds of hours of free podcasts put out a week that are much funnier that what Oqie Raqio has become.

Legion of Skanks has been killing it. If Sirius put them on as a daily show they could have my annual sub back.

How many mugs do you own?

What are you haulin' today?

Snowy here, haulin' a load of lightbulbs from Providence to Reno. Y'know if it weren't for us truckers you folks wouldn't get nothin'.

Before I cancelled, I was listening to the Road Dog trucking channel more than O&J. And I'm not a trucker.

I've not missed an episode since I quit listening (pardon my zinger)

tuned out 15 minutes into Mondays show and haven't listened since. I'll give Bennington a shot tomorrow, he's the only person who can make listening to Opie alone somewhat bearable...

I hear you. The well is completely down to the last drop bone dry. There is nothing to be salvaged anymore. Not even enjoying making fun of the awful radio Opie is making. It's Ron and Fez and podcasts from here on out. Fuck you Opie.

Whats up cousin!

He really has no incentive to ever put on a good show. I really don't see much quality control at Sirius and as long as they believe "Opie" is a name people give a shit about, he will have a job

I'm in the same boat. Listen pretty much daily just out of habit and to have something on that is funny on occasion. Usually followed with podcasts to round out the day.

Didn't bother Monday and Tuesday though, as I'm pretty tired of the Opie and Florentine show. Add Lionel to the mix and it's unbearable.

Today's show was funny though. Henley Opie Bobby and Sam predicting how Soder's long distance relationship would fall apart was good. Also laughed at Opie not knowing that Death From Above song when it has been used as a stinger at the end of the show pretty much since Ant was fired. What a dope.

Same here. Made it about 3/4 of Wednesday's show and called it quits.

Would you like to talk about the good word of our lord and savior, Ronald Bengton?

Im a recent convert, my cousin brother. Ron (peace be unto him) is the anti-Opie. And Pepper is thy messenger.

Honest question: Has there been anything worth listening to on the show this week?

I have been continuing to download the shows and am just starting to listen to Monday's show now. Should I skip this week and listen to old shows instead?

This is absolutely not a week that should be listened to. Even skimmed through yesterday's show that someone here said was decent - I kept skipping forward and that boring edgy hayseed Chuck was still on the god damn phone.

Welcome Home Kenneth!

Are you the Hi Opie! guy?

Naw. Hi Opie guy?

Yes, on Tits twitter, there is a single person that is constantly tweeting HI OPIE.....over and over and over again.

i haven't missed an episode since ant got fired (see, I'm saying i don't miss listening to the shitty show)

We love to hate Opie and we hate to love the show. That is the condition of the O&J fan.

Today wasn't that bad. Better than fucking snow talk.

Well, tell ya what: s'no way IM gonna listen!! LOLLL!!!!!!!!
