I am baffled as to why all of the other radio shows have squandered their opportunity to goof on Opie. After years of belittling other radio hosts with impunity, Opie is sailing along with only this sub pointing out how shitty the show is now.

Professional courtesy? Does Opie really wield that much power?
Maybe it's as simple as they simply don't care enough about Opie to take the effort to make fun of him.

It's because the show is just too irrelevant for even those shitty terrestrial shows to comment on
5 Wsallgood 2015-01-27
The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. They are indifferent to OpieRaqio's existence.
32 otteaux 2015-01-27
Because no one would have a clue who they were taking about.
26 PrinceCharmin 2015-01-27
'Opie and Anthony" was a brand, and had a little name recognition in the markets where they had a terrestrial presence. Here on the west coast, very few have heard of them.
"Opie Raqio" has no brand, it's a brand new product, that's only heard on one platform. Most people you know have no fucking clue who it is, or care. Most people have never experienced Sirius, past the music channels, when they have a free sub in their car or rental.
Why would anyone even talk about him? They don't do programming like Jocktober. Even Scorch probably won't find a reason to mention them. Mancow has no reason to go after them. Todd is too wrapped up in his little bubble to pay attention.
The only person who would have a reason to talk about Opie Raqio is Howard, and if he ever mentioned Gregg again, it'll be a shock - Howard won. O&A are gone. Gregg is a flea on the ass of Howard's Sirius building.
2 sukotsuto 2015-01-27
It's sad that even Scorch is better than Opie.
Howard technically won, but I don't think it's worth claiming victory over someone like Opie. It doesn't matter, the fans lose.
25 AntsCamera 2015-01-27
They did.
90% of those who responded to being Jocktobered, or people who attacked them called Ant and Jim funny, and called Opie the luckiest board Op in history.
Same shit we say.
3 sumant28 2015-01-27
link? have only heard this happen on the JV and Elvis show and that wasn't in response to being Jocktobered if I remember correctly
10 AntsCamera 2015-01-27
You are more asking for links in the plural sense, too many to provide. I am lazy anyways.
How about you trust me as a listener since WNEW, and trust this sub, because if what I said was bullshit it would have been downvoted to shit and I would be called out.
edit sorry I am so lazy, trying to find aftermaths of Jocktobers is hard, then isolating the the time where they talk about it, I am not a producer, I am a drunk!
-1 wifflebb 2015-01-27
I have been a listener since NEW and don't remember anyone saying this
5 AntsCamera 2015-01-27
You must have missed the years after then. They did not say that shit on NEW, because they did not attack shows like they did on XM.
You must have missed a lot of shows.
Wait, you mean to tell me you never heard another host refer to Opie as a Board Op? Really dude? Long time listener my ass, I call bullshit.

I totally remember the board op thing, it exists.
5 Wsallgood 2015-01-27
They were in a radio war with 2 terrestrial jocks. They took shots back and forth until the two shows called each other (both) live on air. Ant wasn't there to prop up Opie (because he was picking up his girl friend at the time from a mental institution) in the argument and it wen't down hill very quickly. At one point, Opie was just yelling YAKOV SMIRNOFF! YAKOV SMIRNOFF! YAKOV SMIRNOFF! YAKOV SMIRNOFF! over and over again. That was his defense.
The rival jocks actually admitted to liking Jim and Ant because they were very funny. And then immediately called out Opie for being unfunny and nothing more than a board op. Opie didn't prove them wrong that day.
EDIT: Found it. It is much worse than I remember for everyone involved.
15 coffeetableboy 2015-01-27
Because no one on earth cares as much about "radio" as Opie and fans of the show, and that includes the people who do it. 99% of the country doesn't even give it a second thought. People on the air are just background noise while people drive, because that's all the majority of people are looking for. Other shows aren't going to suddenly increase ratings because they start shitting on some dude most people have never and will never hear of.
9 GRIZx 2015-01-27
We need to alert these shows on Twitter to how shitty the show has become and give them tips on what will hurt Opie the most
8 fart_yourself_awake 2015-01-27
Todd has his own problems.
7 thesynking 2015-01-27
You'd have thought that douche Jason Ellis would be all over it.
6 pitstained 2015-01-27
Nobody gives a fuck about O&J. The show that trashed them has already been destroyed, there's no point.
5 -Palaver 2015-01-27
It would be really sad without Ant or Jimmy to stand up for him. He's unable to stand up for himself. All he has is, Ugggghhh you got me. You're really stupid. I could of been a model. I'm a black ninja fuckface. And twitter voice guy.
3 rrussom 2015-01-27
I think you mean hilarious.
3 francis_goatman 2015-01-27
Like it or not, Opie still makes way more than most of the competition. The people who could really shit on him don't care about his inane show.
3 Threkin 2015-01-27
Ill go with or not.
3 slendermon 2015-01-27
They say the best revenge is living well and that's what I imagine they're doing while laughing privately at the shit heap known as Opie Radio.
3 Ott_Paper 2015-01-27
Hate to say it but O&A are nowhere near as relevant as they use to be. Why would any show's mention them? Very few shows would have use goofing on how bad Opie is.
3 boydave777 2015-01-27
I can only assume that they are instructed by their program directors to not even mention the show…due to it possibly being competition cause its also radio. Other radio shows usually aren't into starting trouble, just to entertain, albeit usually not that entertaining.
3 KennethFresno 2015-01-27
It's not Opie they're afraid of. Jim would destroy any of those radio hacks, even the one he works with, if he wanted to.
3 ucfgavin 2015-01-27
I just don't think people care
3 regis69 2015-01-27
The shock jock radio war thing was based on going after people you're competing against. Opie isn't a threat to any shows because he's not going to take away any of their listeners. It's not based on him wielding any power. He's irrelevant to other shows so it would be ridiculous for them to go on the air and have to explain who he is and why he isn't funny.
3 BlumpietheCropDuster 2015-01-27
The fact that Opie even mentions himself in the same sentence as Stern is comical.
2 wilfred6969 2015-01-27
does anyone know if opie and anthony's ratings were ever better than howards?
7 jakdak 2015-01-27
Never remotely close.
3 wilfred6969 2015-01-27
in howards favor right
4 jakdak 2015-01-27
Yes.

Stern went out at number 1 in New York when he went to Sirius. After taking over his slot O&A never even cracked the top 10. Opie especially tried to spin it that they were doing ok in their target demographic, but there was just no spinning that they were doing so poorly in the ratings that affiliates were dropping them left and right. Their run on terrestrial radio ended not with a bang, but a whimper.

That's all they had back then, 200k listeners? That after 3 years on satellite, and a year of the 50/50 with broadcast and satellite. That's way after getting rid of the pay subscription as well.
I imagine OpieRadio has about a tenth of that right now, and falling.
2 NashuaDan 2015-01-27
Because they're not listening to the show either.
2 marsgamingchannel 2015-01-27
He's work-friends with powerful suits. Why do you think everyone kisses his ass?
2 opieanthonyjim 2015-01-27
Well the sad truth in radio is if they did, even just O&J plus Sam and Bob Kelly or Soder or whoever comedian they have in could still destroy most shows. So why would it even be worth it?
2 TheRealCheeseburger 2015-01-27
I dunno. Today's show was pretty tight.
2 KANEWTSKI 2015-01-27
We are allowed to shit on opie. If someone would jocktober him or bash him I would be pissed...I've earned the rights to shit on opie becaus I've listned every day for along time.
2 HBK27 2015-01-27
The other shows are still worse - but I wonder if Opie would even acknowledge other shows calling out O&J as a shell of what O&A used to be.
1 shimrra 2015-01-27
Good point, maybe they are still afraid of what the fans might do?

Look at how many people really bash Opie in here. The max is about 30. That's less then 1% of the audience.
2 NhaterJR 2015-01-27
But the op was talking about other radio shows
4 jakdak 2015-01-27
Yes.
