Also, if Jim stops doing characters, the only thing to laugh at on the show would be guests. The show is precariously close to being entirely devoid of humor for almost 4 hours. We cannot afford to have anything subtracted.

The whole appeal of the characters in the first place was Ant's reaction to them, and his ability to feed into them. Without Ant, they're useless
