You can draw your own conclusions here. I doubt Billy Redface wants to go out of his way to help get Ant on after his calls were ignored.

In my (incredibly unpopular in this heavily conservative sub) opinion, Ant was focused on rebuilding, retooling etc. and the last thing he wanted was to tack on a heated argument with the guy in an interracial marriage. If it was a conspiracy against Ant, I'm fairly sure he'd at least bring it up.

Ralphie May said Opie didn't want Ant being at the show because he didn't want him to plug his new show thus losing listeners of Opie Raqio.

I hate that Burr is getting more and more popular just as I like him less and less. I heard his wife talk on his podcast and it's like getting Tumblr poured into my ear. Just indignant emotional horseshit, coloring in the lines and stroking all the right bits of popular opinion. Like reading the OK Cupid profile of a 19 year old pansexual genderqueer vegan. The Ray Rice thing on the O&J show also kinda bothered me about Bill.

Plus, and I don't care if Bill likes Ant or not, I don't give a shit really because it's not my business, but Ant should be at the Patrice show if he wants to be there.

I used to listen to Burr's podcast, and I enjoyed him on O+A. I've watched all his stand-ups and own all his comedy CDs. He was great earlier in his career, but he fell into the whole liberal, politically-correct mindset after a while, probably due to dating his wife and moving to the west coast. Much like Ant and Nick D., I can only listen to Bill ramble on about certain issues so many times before it gets annoying: his white guilt, how whites oppressed minorities in the past, bankers ruin everything, woman are hard to deal with, marriage and having children are scary, his pitbull, overpopulation, etc... Enough already, Bill, we get it that you're a proud, super-enlightened liberal.

I don't get what's in it for people to invite a perceived racist to a show for a black guy's family.

I just felt like Patrice's relationship with the show and moments they created rose above anything. I feel it is a shame that this comes down to a race issue when Patrice was a good/funny dude we lost too soon and these are his buddies honoring his memory.

I was a hardcore fan back in the 07 and 08 years, the golden days. I guess I got dooped because I really did buy into the whole thing being a friend hangout. I guess the vail was lifted after everything ended.

Keep in mind that I am saying this as a huge fan of both Anthony Cumia and Bill Burr. I am not going to speculate as to what exactly happened and why Ant isn't involved with the benefit, but I'm willing to guess its not as cut-and-dry as your making it out to be. As in, I HIGHLY doubt, it's as simple as Bill Burr saying, "Anthony's a racist, and since I'm running the show and my wife is black, he's not allowed to be involved anymore."

On the Bill Simmons podcast released today (I'm not able to access the link but it's on YouTube) around the hour mark, Bill B. talks about the benefit and how it has helped Patrice's family (specifically his mother and stepdaughter).

Finally, someone other than me gets it. These benefits have become nothing more than shameless exploitation of Patrice's legacy.
